You know what else is hard?

Chocolate chip cookies.
I like soft cookies better.

On topic, when I run mono aether in arena I like to have a fire mark with all aether pillars/towers so I can run a few deflagrations/explosions and/or a couple rage potions.  Certainly helps in a mirror match, but it mostly just depends on what's hot in the arena.

Shard of Gratitude FTW. (I find it makes for good deflag/steal bait too.)

I've been tempted a few times to try making my mark fire or darkness so I can run deflag or steal myself. I tend to get mangled by permanent-control decks.

It's not as easy to use deflag anymore, since it got nerfed to 3 :fire, or you can try a rainbow deck when you get the chance.
If you really want to put in some shards, just add some Sosa (maybe you have some from bronze grinding), they work with just about every deck. SoG only heals 3 per turn since the shard update, and you won't have a chance to keep up your shields against a PC deck anyways/

Yeah, I see a lot of decks that brag about SoG, and I'll admit the one hasn't been THAT helpful. Maybe if I had more. But it's possible the nerf has made them less relevant.

SoSas... haven't considered it. It seems like a bad way to deal with a bad situation: you're taking lots of damage and you're waiting for your quanta to come in so you can do something about it... so you do a lot of damage and throw out all your quanta. When would you use that shard to your advantage? Would it be often enough to be worthwhile?

You don't seem to understand the effect of 'Sosa.' Link http://elementsthegame.wikia.com/wiki/Shard_of_Sacrifice_%28Upgraded%29
Its three effects are:
  • Drain all quarta except  :death
  • Decrease your HP by 32
  • Swap any damage with healing for the next two turns, stalkable
This means that if you have more than 32 hp, you are invincible for the next two turns (poison, creature, weapon, spell), and if lucky, get a lot more than 32 hp. Currently, Sosa is being extensively used in many decks, including neurotoxin, mono death, etc.
Sorry, but I forgot about the 'drain all quarta except  :death, so it would not work in this situation, as your deck is primarily  :aether.

Yeah I can imagine that would work well in a  :death deck.

This is what I'm working with now :)

I'm gonna start transitioning to something more multicolored. Maybe rainbow. Problem is: I probably won't be able to do better than this deck for a while. Adding more different elements will really throw everything off. So I'll have to bank a lot of upgraded cards, and make the jump later.
