^See my username (sorry, but it's not related to Resident Evil)

Hey everyone, I finally decided to get a forum account! I've been playing for a couple of years but never bothered registering on the forums.

Truth is, I really want to play in the PvP tourneys so I can get Gold Nymphs for a deck I want to build (I realize that most people take marks, but oh well)!

I have to post 10 times before I can play, and they have to be substantial and full of valid content, so I promise I'll do my best to post something meaningful and helpful to others!

I have a lot of deck ideas I've played around with and I'm ready to share them with you guys :D

irl I'm an ex-yugioh player, I've played pokemon (both) briefly, and I've considered starting to play magic (lands always put me off, though <- which is funny because elements has pillars and yet I like this game :D  )

Poker is cool, too, but I haven't played it enough to get good at it

Sometimes I get caught up in Elements and play it for days straight (my friends think there's something wrong with me, hahaha)

Anyway, until next time,
-oro

I always loved the concept of Eternity, and for that same reason I love Ouroboros as a divine figure.
Also, YGO companion here. I've been playing it for some years, even kept a blog running and stuff, but some issues with my PC made me lose steam and kinda dropped it.
Welcome, hope you'll have fun here.

Hello. I have played all three card games you mentioned. Magic and yugioh competitively for a brief period. I would recommend you should try out mtg. While there are similarities with etg, it will be quite a different experience. Of course there is the satisfaction of flicking real cards haha. Overall mtg is a pretty solid card game. Anyway enjoy your stay here.

Reasons that Elements is better than Magic the Gathering...
Spoiler for Hidden:
1: Play as  many pillars as you like each turn (granted they are in your hand)
2: Elements chat is above awesome, whether it be the official chat or the Kongregate hosted, there is no better collection of crazy, border line weird people that you can talk with
3: Online gameplay allows you to play people across the world
Anyway, hope you like the forums.

There are(or at least there is) free online servers for playing mtg that have hundreds of ppl in it at any time ^^

Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone! :)

I've been thinking about getting into irl card games again, and I'm kind of torn between yugioh and magic.

MTG is usually considered a deeper and more strategic game than yugioh but I'm really familliar with yugioh so it wouldn't take as long to get back into competitive play. I quit playing before XYZ monsters, though, and from the looks of it they really widen the decision trees in yugioh.

I wish Elements could be played on paper! It'd be a pain to keep track of quanta, but maybe the rules could be modified to create a game more conducive to irl play.

On the other hand, the fact that Elements is on software gives it cool things like random effects and card duplication.

I love the thought to put it on paper and I'm new myself here relatively speaking but I'm curious if the numbers for percentages like pandemonium were to be released if it would make that much of a difference in the play-ability of a paper version? For instance you roll a crap load of dice or flip dozens of coins, that involves a human element that  (":Human" anyone?) can mitigate the randomness of it all. Also how would effects like Dischord play out, you already mentioned that quanta would be a pain.

irl EtG? Give this guy a medal. :P
Actually I think an IRL EtG would be such a hassle; between shuffling cards and random effects, fractals and nightmares meaning you have to create multiple copies of cards, mutants... EtG has its online magic.
