Gems of Vice:
These gems are the antithesis of Shards of Virtue and as a result cannot be placed in a deck at the same time as any Shard of Virtue.

Any suggestions for vices without ideas listed would be very much appreciated, as would feedback on those with cards made and ideas posted.  If you believe that something is either too powerful or too weak, please suggest how to bring it more in line.

example unupped gems:

Anger: Strong passion or emotion of displeasure or antagonism , excited by real or supposed injury or insult to one ' self or others , or by the intent to do such injury.

Arrogance: Making undue claims in an overbearing manner; that species of pride which consists in exorbitant claims of rank, dignity, estimation, or power, or which exalts the worth or importance of the person to an undue degree; proud contempt of others; lordliness; haughtiness; self-assumption; presumption.

Bragging: exhibiting self-importance, boastful talk.

Cowardice: Lack of courage to face danger; extreme timidity; base fear of danger or hurt; lack of spirit.

Target creature becomes burrowed
*if its OP with an oty, then so is quint, tho this cuts its atk in half.  could increase the cost or set a limit on burrowed turns to 3 or so.

Disloyalty: Lack of loyalty; lack of fidelity; violation of allegiance.

Steal target creature for three turns

will likely change to creature attacks both players, as it isnt loyal to either, possibly for a set number of turns

Doubt: Lack of Trust and confidence. To suspect; to fear; to be apprehensive.

Target creature’s attack is reduced to 1

Envy: A feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another.

Steal 3 random quanta from opponent each turn

Greed: An excessive desire to acquire or possess more than what one needs or deserves, especially with respect to material wealth.

Gain ten of your highest accumulated quanta.

Injustice: The practice of being unjust or unfair.

Target creature’s attack and hit points are switched

Impatience: The quality of being impatient; want of endurance of pain, suffering, opposition, or delay; eagerness for change, or for something expected; restlessness; chafing of spirit; fretfulness; passion

Reduce the opponent’s maximum hit points by 10

Jealousy: The quality of being jealous; earnest concern or solicitude; painful apprehension of rivalship in cases nearly affecting one's happiness; painful suspicion of the faithfulness of husband, wife, or lover.
Recklessness: Wild carelessness and disregard for consequences. Insufficient consideration.

Target creature gains +3|+0 but has a chance to lose one health after each successful attack

Sloth: Aversion to work or exertion; laziness; indolence.

Untrustworthiness: The trait of not deserving trust or confidence

Vanity: Inflated pride in oneself or one's appearance.

Weakness: The quality or state of being weak; want of strength or firmness; lack of vigor; want of resolution or of moral strength; feebleness.

Target creature’s maximum hit points are reduced to 1

could reduce the effect to cut the creatures hit points in half.  one of the uses for this that i wanted it to have was for ducking under turtle shields with dragons and golems that normally have too much hp if a rage potion isnt handy, not just reducing opp creatures hp so they can be killed sooner by an owls eye or whatever

Wrath: Forceful, often vindictive anger.

All of your creatures gain momentum for 1 turn

or- how about it be a 1|4 creature (or something similar) but gains +1|0 after each successful attack? or instead how about +3|0 after each unsuccessful attack? or instead of being a creature, have that be a buff

Lol I could actually see this happening in game sometime. Maybe not in such an overpowered form, but some shards are OP as well.

And for the burrowing one, I'm pretty sure he means the creature will be lobotomized and gain the skill Unburrow. Otherwise it would just be an"other" quint (pun?).

The ones I see with the most potential to be OP:
Doubt-very close to an insta-kill card, if combined with lobo. If the creature has no ability you only need to block that one point of damage to neutralize it.
Disloyalty-Stealing creatures has been proposed before, but the cost is really cheap and three turns is a lot. It's a 1-2 card advantage, iirc (you play a card and get a creature, but the opponent just lost a creature).
Envy-Devourers are 6 quanta for 3 drain, and that requires 3 cards to boot. This can be played more easily with quantum towers, and it's only one card.

"Doubt-very close to an insta-kill card, if combined with lobo. If the creature has no ability you only need to block that one point of damage to neutralize it."

-could set it to be -5 atk to a minimum of 1

"Disloyalty-Stealing creatures has been proposed before, but the cost is really cheap and three turns is a lot. It's a 1-2 card advantage, iirc (you play a card and get a creature, but the opponent just lost a creature)."

-cost and/or number of turns can be adjusted rather easily, what would you suggest?  maybe have the creature attack both players each turn for three turns?

"Envy-Devourers are 6 quanta for 3 drain, and that requires 3 cards to boot. This can be played more easily with quantum towers, and it's only one card."

-devourers can be fractaled (and burrow), this card cannot. devourers convert the drained quanta to a definite target quanta ( :darkness), this card does not.  and the amount of quanta drained can be reduced and/or the cost could be increased if need be.

do you mean it should be inflicted on the opponent, like they lose 10 of their highest accumulated quanta? "theyre greedy, they dont need that much"?

Interesting concept. Perhaps there can be mirroring gems to the shards, for example:

For Shard of Gratitude, there is Gem of IngratitudeFor Shard of Divinity, there is Gem of ProfanityFor Shard of Readiness, there is Gem of Hindrance
And if you insert Shards in a deck, it prevents you from inserting Gems. If you insert Gems in a deck, it prevents you from inserting Shards.

This would be an interesting duality of elemental affinities and moral leanings. You could then be Good :entropy with Butterfly Effects and Shards of Readiness or Evil :entropy with Discord and Gem of Envy.

Just an idea to throw out there. :)

EDIT: I do think however that these Gems need to go through a serious wave of balancing, Disloyalty is :O, Doubt should be undone after a number of turns, Envy is unfair against Rainbow decks... etc.

Actually, the effect of Gem of Greed does what greed strives for: get more of what you already have and hold onto it. It would be pretty insane in a mono Fire deck.

hyroen, yeah i was thinking about that to an extent.

impatience for example is listed as -10 maximum opp hit points

i was thinkg for sloth be x2 ability cost, or some other increase in cost (+2, +3, +4, +5?) as it takes more motivation to get them to do their job, as a thought.

for shard of gratitude's counterpart (vice yet undetermined) maybe it would be more interesting if it was a spell that prevented all healing for 1 turn or be a perm that cut healing done by a % or a static number.

I don't think it does. Greed as a sin or vice means you forego the important things for the target of your greed and once you have that you will not spend or use that target but hold onto it at all costs. Its not something you want to inflict yourself with.
