We had some FREAKING desync problems so Safko best of 5. 'NUFF SAID.

Yes Baily I was just about to explain what happened.

It was 1 - 1 and Kevkev was 1 hit away from winning the match against didonko.  The game desynced but didonko drew a BB which kept him alive for one more round.  The game desynced before we could see if he would draw a SS which would have probably won the game for him but otherwise it was very very close.  I had to rule that another game be played because although it was a slim chance that didonko would win he did still have a chance.  Didonko won the next match making it 1 - 2 but before he won he told me he felt bad about the previous disconnect and asked if we could make it best of 5 if he won.

After Didonko won I asked both kevkev and didonko if they wanted it best of 5.  Below is the chat log of the conversation.  Since Didonko suggested the best to 5 and since Kevkev probably should have won the previous match I felt it was fair to allow them to play best to 5.  Both players agreed and this is the final result.

i am able to bring a bit of light in this case (and why played best of 5 then)

first game kev was very fast and went 1-0

second game didonko had a great draw (i think 4 poisons in a row or even more) and won, 1-1

at the third game, it was very close, didonko agreed to have a shield and an ea at hand, then they desync (

the match was pretty on kevs side, BUT there was a chance for didonko, to win, that was the reason, safko01, who watched the games, decides, to go best of 3 "again", both agreed.

now there were a few desyncs, didonko then won a game to 1-2, again desyncs (one was pretty on kevs side too) and they discussed at chat, letting $$$man play for didonko (on his account too), but safko told them, that there is the rule, that no cards could be salvaged them (i personally think, if "original" player is here and has the required cards for the deck, that rule needs to get changed, the desyncs were annoying)
at last both gave it a last try and kev won the 4th, so 2-2, then kev could also manage to win the 5th without any more desyncs.

Well, good games didonko, and nice attempts. While we lost, I'm glad to see it was honorable and fair. We're doing pretty badly this round, but I guess it can't be helped.

Frankly, I'm surprised kev's deck managed to win. It looks pretty low on attackers, and the Graboids should take some turns to get out, being fueled solely by the mark. In that pic, it looks like he managed to draw his sole Fire Spirit and his Arsenic, as well as his only Forest Spirit.

Oh well. Perhaps karma will give us some better luck next round. Get some sleep didonko, and hope you have a nice time in Germany.

Well I definitely need to post here but there's really not much that hasn't been said.  safko already mentioned that the reason we played five instead of three was because it was very unlikely, but not impossible, for me to lose game three.

Playing best of 5 was a really good idea by safko.  I would've been bitter with the world if it had ended best of 3 but able to accept my fate if he'd won the best of 5.  I'm glad the Warmaster was there.

I'm also really grateful didonko was a standup guy here.  Against a nameless internet opponent and particularly given the desyncs, it would have been easy to say "I don't have time for this.  I won.  Deal with it."  Instead he did the right thing.  Team  has taken a little heat for not being overly gracious in their losses, but what I saw here was a lot of noble character.

@Terro: My deck is better than you'd expect when the novas come out.  One game I won I had an 11/1 lycan and a shrieker out on turn 2.  Another game I had a lycan, shield, fire spirit, fire pillar and arsenic turn 1 (but we desync'd turn 2).  (Edit: I practiced against some t50 and I took down flying staves, fractal phase spiders, unionruler's fractal RoL hope and more.  Not bad for an unupped deck.)  One more thing to think about: If I had a shrieker attacking and another coming out of paralysis in two turns, he couldn't play his BB.  If he wasted it, I'd soon have a 28/3 shrieker and end the game quickly.  It was a really interesting deck matchup and didonko played it extremely well.

@didonko: I didn't think about it at the time but we stopped desyncing after you asked $$$man to sub and shut down the game.  Maybe restarting your browser was key.

I apologize for not commenting earlier but that match took an hour and 45 minutes, and I hadn't allotted that kind of time.
