ART: Matt Champagne IDEA: Zso_Zso NOTES: The spell disables all enemy creatures for 1 turn, they cannot attack or use any abilities. It also removes invisibility and affects immaterial creatures too but not the weapon (like sundial). SERIES:

Light really needs some creature control. This idea fits thematically, not too OP -- similar to sundial, but only affects the enemy, which is the reason I raised the cost compared to sundial. It also disables the active abilities of the creatures, since they are incapacitated.

Mechanically, it sounds like what you want to do is inflict one turn of delay on every enemy creature (similar to the time bubble from the procrastination shield, the ability of iridium warden, etc.).  That little hourglass that appears on top of a delayed creature is the difference between full incapacitation (i.e., can't use creature abilities), and just not attacking (like sundial).  For clarity and to keep things parallel, maybe reword the text to use the word delay.

I like the idea conceptually.  It's a little bit of creature control in a thematically appropriate way, without tipping the scales and completely removing one of 's weaknesses.

Thanks Rutarete for posting that extensive list of similar ideas (including the sub-list inside one of the links, there are like 7-8).
If there was only 1 other very similar idea I would feel bad for posting a new variant in a separate thread, but joining a line-up of over half-dozen doesn't seem so bad 

OTOH, the large number of these also indicates, that there really should be something like this included. So it becomes a matter of choice, which specific idea is the best mechanism to add.

But this is OP! 1 for basically another turn of living is huge! Especially when you can keep attacking. Sundial is weaker in that it is a permanent and can be destroyed, as well as the fact that it disables one's own creatures. Your card removes those two weaknesses for the same cost, 1 = 1 , and it's also in the element of Light, which boasts powerful creatures and the shining miracle. This is even more powerful in light in that Light is a slower element. This card is OP because it's basically sundial, but even more powerful and being much harder to counter, as well as carrying too much weight. 1 for an extra turn of living is huge, when many games, both unupped and upped, hinge on that pivotal turn.

Its not the same cost, you are comparing the upped of this card with the unupped of the sundial to claim same-cost, incorrectly. It is +1, i.e. double cost for un-upped and also +1, i.e. infinite (1/0) times more expensive than sundial for upped version.

Of course, a cost increase might still be necessary to balance the card, I'm just pointing out that your starting position is wrong when you say its the same cost.

6 of these, 6 dials, sanc/miracle/shield sounds like easy 20 turns stall. Kinda in the OP side I would say. Cannot say if it is due to coexistance of dials or the inherent mechanic, but I don't think a cost increase will fix that.

My bad. I thought for a moment there that sundials upped costed 1 instead of 0. 1 would have been around equivalent to 1 .

Still, comparing unupped versions, a mere +1 cost for getting rid of all the penalties that sundials impose is too good.
