NOTES:
"Today will be illuminating -- even enlightening."

"You may lose a close friend today, but if memory of their sacrifice is kept strong, it will be a continuing inspiration to others."

Essentially, it is a relatively soft anti-CC that triggers in response to one of your creatures dying due to enemy actions.

The slot the creature used to be in will then be "hallowed" meaning that any new ally that is placed inside it will be protected from mass targeting (e.g. plague, pandamonium, etc) and field based effects (e.g. flooding, and most of the cards of this series)

The slot will remain protected for as long as this card remains.

The protection is much weaker than making something untargettable, so it should be quite distinct from quintescence.

-I had originally planned to wait till memorial day (US) to release this to Smithy, but it fit very well in this series.

Yes. Thanks. I have several versions of this, and I was getting things mixed up.

I just updated things now.

Hopefully the mechanic is relatively straightforward in this version.

What are the conditions here.

#1 - Creature must die
(b) - You must cast this
#2 - You must cast a creature on the new slot/move an existing creature to the slot
#3 - Opponent must cast a field/mass effect spell.

That odds of that happening are terrible.  Meaning the utility of this card is near zero.

Not as terrible as you might think.

1) This card needs to be in play first
2) Opponent kills one of your creatures.
3) A new creature gets played or moved to that slot.

For (3) the condition is actually not hard to do.

Unless a second creature with EARLIER priority dies, your next creature played will automatically go there.

Ex:
-You have creatures in slots 1 through 6. Your opponent kills your creature in slot 4.
-In order for your next creature to NOT go to slot 4, your opponent would have to kill your creature in slot 1,2, or 3.

In other words, most of the time, this card will protect the next creature you play after one of your creatures dies.

I think that the main weakness of this card is that it protects only one of your creatures against mass CC, so it doesn't really affect the efficiency of mass CC unless you have few creatures. At the same time the protected creature is still vulnerable to other forms of CC. You mention the other cards in this series and after seeing them I think that is the main advantage someone would gain by having this on play. Of course, this makes this card too dependent on the rest of the series to have a real use. I would have gone with something like protection against mass CC/field effects for 1 turn for all your creatures (OP maybe).
