Shard Mayhem - Rules
Original idea by: ??#2   |   Developed by: Shantu   |   Art by: -   |   Organized by: ?

Rumours say elementals from all over the world are gathering for a contest... a contest to gain the power of Shards. But great power is a great burden and the weak shall fall. Can you defeat all odds and emerge victorious from this massacre?

1. HOW TO SIGN UP?
First and foremost, read the rules.
A signup topic will be opened when the event is ready to be run; keep an eye out for it and just simply post in it when it appears along with a favored element.

When the event starts everyone will be assigned 2 shards from their element and 8 more randomized from the remaining elements. So in total everyone starts with 10.

2. DECKBUILDING

You must collect shards from your opponents by defeating them. Every shard in your possession gives you a penalty however.
- Each shard in your possession allows you to put one corresponding shard into your deck. They also allow you to upgrade 1 card from the corresponding element (can be the shard itself)
- You do not have to use shards in your decks if you don't want to.
- There are no deckbuilding limitations other than those caused by shards. Each shard in your possession (as in, owned by you. They do not have to be in your deck) give you a minor disadvantage during deckbuilding. If you don't have any, the effects obviously do not apply to you.

Spoiler for Shard penalties:
Shard of Sacrifice: Each Shard of Sacrifice reduces the copies of healing cards you may have in your decks.
Shard of Divinity: Each Shard of Divinity reduces the number of upgrades you may use by 2.
Shard of Focus: For every 2 Shards of Focus you must have 6 copies of one non-pillar card in your deck.
Shard of Freedom: For every Shard of Freedom you must use 1 less copy of non-airborne creatures.
Shard of Gratitude: For every shard you must use at least 1 shield in your deck.
Shard of Integrity: For every Shard of Integrity you must use at least 2 shards in your decks.
Shard of Patience: Each Shard of Patience reduces the maximum cost your creatures can have in your decks. [-/10/9/8/7/6/5]
Shard of Serendipity: For every 2 Shards of Serendipity, you must utilise at least one more element in your decks. [1/2/2/3/3/4/4]
Shard of Void: Pillars used in your decks must be a multiple of the number of Shards of Void you have.
Shard of Readiness: For each Shard of Readiness you must use at least 1 creature in your decks.
Shard of Bravery: Each Shard of Bravery increases your minimum deck size by two.
Shard of Wisdom: For each Shard of Wisdom you must have at least 1 spell card in your decks.

If you have 7+ Shards of an element, your Mark must be from the element you have the most of for every game you play. If you have multiple with the same amount, you may choose which one to use.

4. DUELS
Each player is seeded against two other players. Each Round lasts for 4 days.

Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match. Changing your decks between matches is allowed as long as you use legal decks.

It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.

5. AFTER DUELS
Winner should post in the "Battle Results" topic along with short description of how the match went. Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks.
Winners gain one quarter of the losers' Shards, randomly selected, rounded up. If someone has less than 4 shards they drop from the event and the winner gains all shards they had.

6. WINNER
You win if no one else has any shards left or if you have the most shards by Round 8.

7. REWARDS
The winner of the event will receive a forum award icon of unspeakable beauty.
