The New Shards - Deckbuilding Competition
Idea By: Absol and Zblader | Art By: Frank de Backer, stevemur, catori
Zanz is back, and there are new cards for Elements gamers to play with, as well as changes to cards already here. Can you turn this time of change into an opportunity?

In this competition, you can submit up to three decks. That's it - it's not a difficult competition. However, there are some rules you need to follow. ;)

Rules and Requirements:
  • You must include at least 6 copies of cards changed in 1.32.
  • If you do not use the Salvagers or Dry Spell in your deck, you must include at least 7 copies.
  • The deck should make use of the shards/new cards in an original and interesting way.
  • Optional but recommended: The deck should work.
  • Winner receives an award icon; you might get a special one if you win both halves of the competition...

Phases: First there will be a submission phase - just post on this thread to submit up to three decks. Then will follow a voting phase.
Voting Phase: It's time to collect the submissions... (Polls will be up soon!)

I had an idea today for a new FG grinder, which just happens to use one of the new cards (graviton salvager) and I think the deck should be successful at least against some FGs, but it will absolutely bomb in PVP due to AI flaws.  Would such a deck still be okay for the competition?

Yes.

In general, you may submit any deck to this competition (this includes decks made for the AIs). Given that 'the deck should work', however, I would recommend avoiding joke decks and make sure it's viable for what its meant to do.

Use acceleration on any friendly creatures, use purify on accelerated salvagers or on yourself. Effective against AI3's.

The impressive thing about this deck is its versality as well as its power. Make a Shard Golem with, let's say, 2 SoI and 1 SoW and TwinUniverse it to werak havoc against your opponent with a really tough army or TU an enemy dragon, buff it with SoWs and TU it again and again! If Eternity is on the field, make an immortal Golem and if an impassable shield is on the field, give spell damage to it.
However, its versality is also its drawback; what if you have too few SoWs in your hand or too many of them? This can be annoying, but it is a great deck to play no matter what!

BRAVE SACRIFICE
It's fast and giving your opponent creatures doesn't matter much since you can just put down a Shard of Sacrifice! (doesn't everyone just hate it?)
