ART: EmeraldTiger IDEA: Zblader NOTES: A Life card that gives creatures an initial boost. Useful for pumping up creatures produced by Mitosis or Fractal. Augment triggers for each seperate creature that enters the field, then subtracts that bonus after all creatures attack. For example, a Spark will become 5 | 2, deal 5 damage, and then die as a 3 | 0. Tiger's effect will stack. SERIES:

This looks like a fun idea and is (probably) balanced.  It would make for some interesting new scorpion duo decks (dune scorp, deathstalker) as well as enabling certain other sorts, like life/aether fractal spark, or whatever.  I have two comments for consideration, though:

1) Does the ability stack?  It would likely be too powerful if you could stack these; I'd point to nightfall/eclipse as precedent.

2) Would it be possible to reword the ability slightly?  Until I read the notes, I thought that the TIGER was getting the temporary buff when you played other creatures that turn.  That would also be an interesting ability, but it's a completely different card.  Changing 'it' to 'that creature' would solve my misunderstanding.

I would think after that creature attacks would make more sense for a temporary buff.


This ability can be evaluated using the fiction of pretending the Tiger receives the one turn buff. Thus the Tiger is a 4+X|4+X where X is the average number of creatures to enter your side per turn.

There are 3 cases to consider:
1) Mitosis cheap creatures [Frog]
2) Spawner creatures (Pharaoh/Firefly Queen)
3) Malignant Cell

I see no interest in giving a 2/2 buff it ends up before enemy's turn 2/0 would do the same i think . I understand that it is for balancing in case of fractal /spark but still ...

The spark still dies so the only reason for the hp increase is Skull Shield or Adrenaline vs the other CC shields.
It makes it weaker vs Gravity Shield.

No. A Tiger can receive a boost from another tiger, though.

I really like the ideas behind this card. A temporary buff mechanism is great, and life does balance out the power associated with the tiger, as well as its inherently high cost. I don't have any good enhancement suggestions.
