Even overlooking the fact that this card does what two other cards already do, it's very OP.
Nightfall gives +1|+1 to all
and
, for a cost of 3
. Boneyard produces one skeleton for 3
+ whatever cost you have to pay to trigger some kind of death effect. To just have 1 skeleton with 2|2 stats, you need to pay 3 cards, 3
, 3
, and whatever the death costs.
Crypt gives +1|+1 to skeletons for 3
, and generates two more skeletons for 2
. For a total of 5
, you can have 2 2|2 skeletons. Compare to Graveyard, which generates 1 2|2 elite skeletons for 5
. The unupped version of your card is twice as efficient as the upgraded version of a card already in the game.
Mausoleum gives +2|+2 to skeletons for 3
, and generates three more skeletons for 2
. For a total of 5
, you can have 3 3|3 skeletons. Again, compare to graveyard. This card is over 4 times more efficient.
I think in order for this card to be a good addition to the game, it needs to do something different. I would try to come up with some sort of ability or something of the sort, and having a Crypt|Mausoleum in play would give that ability to all Skeletons in play. This would make the card combo well with Boneyard|Graveyard and Nightfall|Eclipse, instead of overshadowing them. THAT, I think, is what Oldtree's means by synergy and redundancy.
My first idea for an ability would be something like...A death aura. I don't know what to call it. But any creature that has it generates
quanta every turn. But I feel like this would overshadow Soulcatcher. You get the point from my example though I'm guessing. Also, maybe Crypt|Mausoleum could apply to all undead creatures? To the best of my knowledge, this would make it apply to Skeletons and Mummies, though there may be other cards that benefit that I'm not thinking of. That may or may not be overkill, depending on what this card evolves into.
