Has this been tried before? I don't know. Would it even work with the permanents we have available right now? I'm also a little iffy on the elemental flavouring, synergies, and activation costs. Feedback would be nice :)

Seems like an animate permanent. Seems interesting, although there are few permanents that I'd really want more than 6 of.

Breakdown:

Unupped:
+3 for attack
+2 for ability (due to lack of good targets)
-1 for duo
=4

Upped:
+4 for attack
+1 for hp
+2 for ability
-1 for duo
-2 for upgrade
=4

Perhaps the ability might merit +3, making it a static casting cost of 5. Honestly, I was looking for a casting cost mid-ranger for :time, and felt 4 might fit.

On a side note: this + Hourglass = stepping on Golden Nymph's tail?

Missed that, thanks. And yeah, the more I think on it, the more I can see this as a sort of Endow (cost of 3 unupped, 2 upped). Also, a HP reduction on the upped is definitely in order (was trying to make it Otyugh-proof, sigh). I've been going through the available targets as well, and it makes much more sense this way. This is why I decided to post this here instead of in the Smithy :D

The reasoning behind the + to HP for Nightfall | Eclipse is because there would already be one in play. Since the permanent can't stack, that would make it almost useless to Tinker, unless you plan on destroying the original for some reason.

Artificer is not a darkness or death card. Nightfall | Eclipse buffs creature only if it's darkness or death.
