IDEA:
moomoose
NOTES:
This is a defensive spell for Earth and elements with Earth synergy.  Early on, this spell isn't particularly useful- when you have ~100% hp, your opponent won't likely be able to deal over 50 damage per turn.  Later in the game, however, if you have around 10hp, this can delay defeat by a few turns, and allow for the potential of a comeback. 

An example: You have 7 hp remaining, cast Steel Resolve, your opponent will do 4 damage this turn (3.5 rounded up, leaving you with 3), 2 damage next turn (1.5 rounded up, leaving you with 1) and 1 damage the next turn (0.5 rounded up, leaving you with 0hp and dead anyway).

A less common use would be to block predictable OTK scenarios

Hmm, I didnlt understand this card very well until I read the scenarios, "total health" seemed like your max hp to me, perhaps changing the wording a slight bit to avoid the misunderstanding?

This. "Current" health would feel better IMO.
Current health = phase shield @ 1 hp.
There is no "Big Crunch". The very idea of it is idiotic. If the expansion of the universe, caused by the big bang, is, in fact, what causes the flow of time, how would the big bang happen in the first place, without the universe expanding, thus time not flowing in any particular direction?

And only a non hax hax shield at higher hp.

moomoose does a good job at estimating balance. The upgraded version has the same cost as Phase Shield and 1 more than Improved dusk.

I like this card idea. The idea of still allowing creatures to harm you, yet not dying off from it makes this card very balanced, which I believe is one of the main attributes of earth.

Not really. Just slows people down. Especially OTKs.
In fact, I quite like this idea. Something like quicksand - you can get out of it but it slows you down a lot.
