This deck has been up for a while on Xenocidius's "List of Decks Used Against Arena With Stats 2.0" thread, which can be found here: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,30564.msg415331#msg415331.  I figured I'd give the deck it's own page, for both comments, and ease of lookup.

Win Rate = 84%

Interestingly, over half of the losses were to mono-entropy (due to Maxwell's Demon killing the dragons).  The deck went 32-1 and then lost to several mono-entropy decks almost in succession.  I intend on doing more trials to get more accurate results, but I figured this would suffice for now.

Strategy:

• Play devourers first
• Dragons come next
• Steal should be saved for stealing shields against mono-aether, or sancs/empathic bonds vs. light or life respectively
• Weapons can also be steal targets, but only if you need to prevent damage done to you.  The above targets are preferred
• Finally, if you are playing against a mono or duo deck and their pillar draw is less than adequate, you can force denial by stealing pillars.  Keep in mind, this is the lowest priority for steal usage
• Drain life should be used for CC or alpha strike damage (damage used to deal the finishing blow to the opponent)

Keep in mind that this deck is a variant from Mono Dark as shown in the Deckbuilding 101 (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1190.0.html), with the following modifications:
+Steal, +Vampire Stiletto
-2 Pillars
Pillar-Pend split (optional, for those without money to do it can do this later)

Still effective enough to do its job right. I now officially dub Darkness as the best starting element for this purpose.
For those without Vamp Stiletto can replace it with Drain Life.

Ah I didn't realize it was so close!  Sorry if this is too similar =/  Do you think this should be deleted as a thread then?
Btw I completely agree with darkness as a starting element.

I don't think this should be deleted, as this can be a good guide for starting players. While Deckbuilding 101 have decks for all starting element, Darkness has an advantage as shown here.
You might want to expand the guide more.
