This card will allow cards in your own hand or any card in play to change their element.  Water traditionally plays well with other elements, and now it can use cards of other elements- but at an increased cost of 3|2 :water.  A minor side effect is creatures targeted by fluidity from other elements will benefit more from SoP and survive flooding, if your mark is water.  Or if you wanted a :darkness :water deck and had a card that you would prefer be :darkness in order to benefit from eclipse, you could apply this card while having a mark of :darkness .

It works well with SoR to allow you to have access to using even more cards in the game's arsenal.

It may warrant dropping the cost to 2|1 :water , which is what I had originally, but decided to boost it to 3|2 to err on the side of caution.

Seems a bit situational and expensive given how it's not really that useful. I know it's supposed to combo with SoP and all that, but still, it'd be better if it were even cheaper imo.

yep, thats what i was thinking, but like i said, err on the side of caution.  could help with possibly having spells/permanents/creatures costing another quanta type to play instead of their natural element.

When it targets a permanent stack, does it only target the top one?

If you fractal/nightmare a creature on the field affected by this, what is the card element from the hand?
Years ago we had Ronald Reagan, Johnny Cash, Bob Hope, and Steve Jobs. Now we have Obama, no hope, no cash, and no jobs.

What would be the point of targeting permanents if you're only changing their element?

I'd assume regular element, just as if you fractal/nightmare a mutant or buffed creature, you get the base creature.

I was thinking of doing that to enemy pillars :P.

Ah right. How clever! I didn't even think of that! Well, my guess is that it'll only target the first in a stack.

Also, what would happen if you targeted shards? Permanent price (even if its element changes) is really useless, so perhaps have the OP mention this can only target creatures? Unless he intended for it to be able to target pillars.

targeting a pillar wouldnt be very useful, its ability would not be altered.

if you target a shard, the cost will become set to your mark rather than random.

nightmaring/fractaling a changed creature will result in the creature of the new element being produced

using this on a fractal, miracle or any other card with a quanta drain should be adjusted to drain the new element for balancing purposes

ive debating this idea before, but it errs on the side of too situational atm.
You might be able to construct a deck aroudn it carefully, but otehr than that its current uses are limited.
Perhpas if it did have more of an effect on permanents? Perhpas changing pillars/pendulums from one element to another?

I think it has potential, just not sure where yet.

I see some interesting potential uses. The most obvious is in a rainbow flood deck.
Could also combo w/  :darkness or  :death mark, and nightfall. CHoly light and flash of light might see some more play as well if this card makes it in. Would also be potentially very nasty in conjunction with  :time mark and SoR (e.g. infinite trident or infinite pulvy).
Neat idea. Quite situational, and could take a bit of testing to balance, but it might be very fun.
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?

I've always thought that fire pillars generate fire, so if you changed it to water, it should generate water.

Wait, target shard? Ooooh. I see. Didn't read that you could target cards in your own hand. My bad.

I'm not sure I agree with this. I prefer to see only that one specific creature "changed". If you nightmare'd a fire vampire, let's say, then the game also needs to create a life vampire, water vampire, aether vampire, basically 11 other elements of each creature.

I'd still go with 2|1 cost. But that is just me~ This is your card.
