Ability to Turn Spectate Off

While on one hand, spectate could use a bit of an update, it would be nice to have the option to turn spectate off.

With the increase of team based events and the continued popularity of WAR, team testing needs this option. As it is right now, most testing is done vs the AI in trainer, but this doesn't always give correct feedback and doesn't encourage teamwork. Players should be afraid to test decks for fear that someone is watching them.

I think it's rather silly that we can spectate tournament matches, for example, to see what future potential opponents might use.  (even though I've done it myself when I have time to kill before another match)  I've suggested in other idea threads that we have a tournament system supported in-game, so that players can't spectate them, and only allow spectating by TOs and other admin types in tournaments to mediate disputes.  For league or pve (which is currently not spectatable) there isn't really any reason not to allow it.

I hope that zanz would please look at this topic. We desperately need the ability to turn Spectate off in PvP. There are a lot of team PvP events and it's a shame that no one wants to test decks against other teammates because someone could be watching.

Just a simple checkbox that a player can click to turn off spectating. Or even make it so both players must click it... but please anything...

I agree that this would be a very useful option, we only trained vs AI last war, and do so again this war, because we want to prevent anyone from spying on possible decks, this is even worse once the duel phase starts and you know exactly who your opponent will be.
I also know for a fact that some players were constantly watching spectate last war for that exact reason, so this request is not unreasonable and it would be very useful if this could be done without too much trouble.

I agree with this suggestion, as long as the option would require both players to agree. While for general testing it's highly unlikely that someone might be watching, in tourneys this is desperately needed - otherwise you basically can see the decks you're going to be going against in advance.

For a start, I've never "Spectated" anything before, so don't rage on my for anything I don't say right. From my POV, I think it's good and bad. Good, for the fact that new players could see strategies and try to implement them into their deck. The bad part is that they're probably (85% of the time...) going to try and copy the deck.

Well, that's not the real issue.  For newer players, it's more or less a good thing if they copy strategies so that they can experiment with how to implement them in other places.  And said strategies are easily seen in the Arena or Pvp1|2.  As stated above, the real issues come with PvP events such as tours and the War.

Yep, we're just looking to promote more team testing than just individual testing vs the AI.

I support this 100%. Shouldn't be hard to implement, and it would be cool if it came with a few spec updates. But mainly this.
