pikachufan2164Customize your team of randomly selected decks, and battle your way to victory!
1. SIGNING UPAnyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.
The maximum number of participants for this event is
32. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player. Reserve players will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1, or leaves the event for any reason.
2. BRACKETSThis event uses a 5 round
Swiss tournament bracket, followed by a
single-elimination tournament bracket of the Top 8 players from the Swiss portion.
In the Swiss portion, players will be paired up against players with similar win-loss records. After 5 rounds, the Top 8 players from the Swiss portion will move on to the single-elimination portion. In the single-elimination tournament, players will be seeded according to their performance in the Swiss portion -- #1 vs. #8, #2 vs. #7, etc.
Each round, the Organizer will create a new topic in the Battle Results section for each battle taking place. Each player's starting decks and amount of Custom Points will be shown.
3. PREPARATIONSAt the beginning of the event, you will be given 6
randomly generated decks (courtesy of
Xenocidius) by the Organizer. These base decks will be publicly revealed.
Players will create their own Trainer Cards in their own thread at the beginning of the event. Trainer Card threads will be updated by the players after each duel. Players must keep a record of changes they have made to their Trainer Card (new base decks, and increased maximum CP).
Guidelines for Trainer Cards- Select a Pokémon trainer sprite from the links below.
- Put the base decks that you were randomly generated into the deck slots.
- You may nickname your trainer and your decks. Keep them appropriate; inappropriate names will be removed.
- DO NOT EDIT YOUR TRAINER CARD when you spend CP on deck modifications each round.
A basic example and template is shown below:

4. DECKBUILDINGAll base decks given to players (both the original set of 6 decks, and any replacement decks) will not contain Nymphs and Shards.
Each player will receive 6 Custom Points (CP) at the beginning of the first round. After the first round, players will be given increased amounts of starting CP.
Think of Custom Points as leveling up your Pokémon, teaching it new moves via TMs and HMs, and giving it an item to hold. Each round, Custom Points may be used for the following Actions:
- Upgrade: You may upgrade target card in target deck
- Modify: You may replace target card in target deck with another card of the same element (Other cards may not be changed to Shards)
- Delete: You may remove target card in target deck (that deck must still have at least 30 cards remaining after removing the card)
- Metamorphosis: You may change the mark in target deck
Each Action costs 1 CP each time it is used. Actions may be taken multiple times, provided that you have enough Custom Points to pay for it. If you want to use a deck in battle, and it contains cards you do not have in your collection, you MUST spend 1 CP to use the Modify or Delete action on the cards you don't own.
You only spend CP on decks that are used in battle, so don't be afraid to come up with different modifications for different decks. Unspent Custom Points at the end of each round are lost, so make sure that you use them all up!
5. DUELSEach round, players have 4 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event Organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final. It is strongly encouraged to keep a copy of the scheduling PMs sent and received for evidence if needed.
Any player who fails to complete two matches over the course of the event will be removed and subject to the
PvP Parasite Warning System.
The total number of Custom Points spent on your decks must not exceed the number of Custom Points you have.
All matches are best-of-five.
Players may only use 3 different decks (from their roster of 6) for the duration of the match. After a game, the losing deck is considered to have Fainted -- it may not be used in that match anymore. The winning deck may continue to be used in future games in the match. However, once a deck is used, it may not be modified that round (in terms of Pokémon logic, you can't change a Pokémon's moves and item mid-battle).
When a player has won three games, he or she wins the match.
Desynchs will be replayed using the same decks and marks. If one player agrees that they would have lost that game, their opponent is awarded the win and the two players may move on to the next game, if needed. If there is any dispute over a result, simply replay the game and PM the Event Organizer with the match in question. The Organizer will then determine whether the original match should have been awarded or if the replay should count.
It's a good idea to either record the matches or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Players who are caught cheating will be permanently banned from all Elements Community PvP events, so please play fair.
6. AFTER DUELSWhen you complete a match, both players will immediately post the battle results along with the customized decks they used in the appropriate Battle Results thread (it would be useful to keep track of how many Custom Points you used to build the modified deck). A summary of what occurred is also encouraged.
Make sure your deck is EXACTLY what you played -- you MUST keep codes. Any player who delays posting their decks after the match risks forfeiture or even removal from the event. Editing your post containing the decks you used is discouraged but not prohibited.
After the match, all decks return to their base states (they do not retain the modifications made during Battle Preparations). After each match and BEFORE the countdown for the current round ends, team composition preparations must be finalized. The winner of a match may select 1 base deck belonging to their opponent and swap it for one of their own base decks. The loser of the match loses that base deck, and will be given a new randomly generated deck to use. Note that modifications are NOT included in swapped decks -- only the base decks generated at the beginning of the event are swapped.
Swaps must be sent via PM to the Organizer. If the winner of a match does not send in their swap by the deadline of the round, they are considered to have opted out of swapping for that round. Any swaps made will be publicly revealed when pairings for the next round are posted.
Winners gain 3 maximum CP, while losers gain 1 maximum CP. Custom Points will be replenished to their maximum amounts at the end of each round (for example, at the start of the second round, winners from Round 1 will have 9 CP, while losers from Round 1 will have 7 CP to spend on Round 2 modifications).
In a "both players lose due to inactivity" scenario, both players will have one of their decks (chosen at random) be replaced with a newly-generated randomized deck; both players will gain 1 maximum CP.
7. SUBSTITUTIONSIf a player drops out or is removed from the event for any reason, the Event Organizer will replace them with a player off the Substitution List. The new player will gain control of all decks and CP the replaced player had before their removal.
8. PVP PARASITE WARNING SYSTEMIn addition to all the rules stated already, this event operates under the
PvP Parasite Warning System rules as well. Please make sure you read and fully understand them before joining this event.
9. REWARDSThe winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:
