Sacrifice and Firespitter https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=3405.msg29498#msg29498

One of my favorite parts of any card game like this is the collecting so I thought I would try to make some rares for dark and fire to counter Miracle and Arctic Squid in light and water.

Sacrifice/ Improved Sacrifice
Cost 15 :darkness/12 :darkness
Consumes All Quanta on the the board. (I thought about directly countering miracle by doing something like sacrifice 1/2 of your health and deal the same damage to your opponent, but seemed a little OP)

Firespitter/ Firebreather
Cost 3 :fire/  3 :fire
2/1 (unupped and upped)
Skill 4 :fire/  3 :fire Deal 2 damage to the target creature (Perhaps targeting immortals). (Thought about a passive skill that would deal one damage to all creatures on the field when firespitter died wasn't sure which of these skills was better)

I tried to make these cards similar to their elemental opposite while remaining within the realm of the cards respective elements.

Let me know what you think, and if anyone could do art I would appreciate it. (I sometimes forget which side of a crayon the color comes out of ???)

I think the first idea is quite powerful and unneccesary; it provides the ultimate quanta control and is quite powerful. I would like it more if it instead drain quanta (Drain 15 random quanta from opponent, you gain 15 darkness quanta), drain health for quanta (Drain 20 health from opponent, you gain 20 darkness quanta), or something to that effect; in its current state it is too powerful.

Firespitter is nice. Just like Squid, it is very expensive to use, but is also very useful.

Great job!

Fire spitter seems underpowered as a rare.....

Maybe make it a cremation on a stick?

@icybraker I thought about going that way, but I thought that dropping everyone's quanta back to zero would add an interesting twist to the game. Not sure which of the two suggestions you had I prefer hopefully some more people will post and I can improve it.

@Gl1tch I was going for a fire variant of the squid, so damage instead of freeze. I do agree to some extent that it is underpowered as infection can do better. The benefit to this is that it is an instant effect so an you can weaken a creature just enough for an oty to eat it without having to wait the extra turn. Not sure how I feel about cremation on a stick, what do you think of the alternate passive skill where it would act essentially as a thunderstorm.

That would be OP, but I have an idea.

Edit it's ability so it can hit untargetables.  That my friend is worthy of a rare.

Good idea some people will think aether has already been nerfed enough, but what is the community for if not helping me figure out how to make this the best card possible.  :)

Then make Aether better?  It's in dire need of good cards anyway, and immortals have enough life that this shouldn't cause too much of a problem.  As it's a rare, there won't be too many of them in a deck, I think it's balanced.

Aether is already great. It's probably the element that has been nerfed the most (huge Phase Dragon nerf and huge Immaterial nerf) and it also has the least cards, but almost every one of those cards are remarkable in their own way. Shields can now shred apart Immaterial opponents, and they can't be targeted anyways; creatures shouldn't be able to target them, much less hit them.

I know what you mean icy I don't think aether should be nerfed I love it as is. What do you think, do you like firespitter how it is or do you think it needs to be changed to make it achieve rare status? Rares are what I wanted to make because we seem a little short on them with only the weaps, miracle, shard and squid.

Firespitter perhaps should do additional damage; after all, Parasite basically deals 1 damage with every hit, except it stacks and it is much cheaper. I'd say 2 damage sounds about right.

What I meant was to add more cards for Aether.

They definitely need more cards; they have much less than other elements. A few strange creatures and mediocre situational spells should do it. Examples:

Jolt / Shock
3 :aether / 2 :aether
Remove all status effects (Momentum, Poison, Grav Pull, Adrenaline) from the target creature. It loses 1 health. /

Hyperjump / Teleportation
7 :aether / 6 :aether
Target opponent creature comes to your side of the field and is afflicted with the status "Dimensional" which brings it back to your opponent's side of the field after 1 turn /

You know, simple stuff like this. Also creates synergy.
