NOTES:
So I thought, what if instead of increasing the power of existing Life decks I was to create a completely new deck type that answers the typical Life problems without having the rest of its strengths? I therefore present you... Treefolks.

This card should be evaluated alongside Forest Guardian | Forest Protector (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,33727.0.html) for the similar and interacting mechanics.

Treefolk | Treant has the passive ability "Treefolk", which grants a vulnerability to fire-based effects. These include, for now, only Fire Bolt and Fire Storm (no Rage Potion, which is based on :fire quanta, but not thematically fire-based): both these cards (and eventually future cards) will deal 2 extra damage to Treefolks.

The "Treefolk" passive is checked by the ability Earth's Wrath: if five or more creatures with "Treefolk" are on the field, you may destroy your opponent's shield. This is based on Ent's famous wall-breaking power, when angered. If you manage to gather at least five of them, nothing shall stop them.
Note that this is a targeting ability, so it cannot destroy immaterial or protected shields.

Treefolk's high hps are also thematically appropriate, and even with Treefolk's innate vulnerability to fire they require at least a couple CC cards (or 30+ quanta Fire Bolts) to get rid of. This, coupled with Forest Guardian's own high hp and power - and with Mitosis' synergy - creates a completely new (but dedicated) deck type, a new elemental synergy with Earth, and covers Life's normal weaknesses... but at a cost: if you want to invest in this strategy, you lose the speed a normal Life rush has.

Nice idea, but I don't see myself using it.

You would need Mitosis to get 5 Treefolks. Also  :life+ :earth is not too common. My advice is to reduce it only to 3 treefolks

That was the original idea, but take a look at Forest Guardian first: it's in the notes.

Basically, I wanted to give Life a chance to get rid of shields without having it stomp over shields without any problems. Because, you know, Mitosis + a 9 hp creature is going to get 3 of them out in no time at all. But I'm open to critique, and if most people feel it is too narrow or weak, I'll change it.

Well but Forest Guardian isn't in the game, that would be like creating card idea which would require nerfing card already in game.

True, but as I said in the notes, they are supposed to work together. If Treefolk was to enter the game alone, it would need a buff (reducing the required number of creatures to 3 is good), but I shal trust Zanz to do it if he deems Treefolk worthy.

I really like this card, but I think 5x treefolk to make it work is too much.  What if you dropped it to 4x treefolk unupped and 3x if upped?

If you had a mix of upped + unupped on the field, they'd all count as 'treefolk', and you could activate the upped one if you had say 1x upped and 2x unupped, but not the unupped ones

For 3x upped, assuming you had 6 in the deck, you'd still have to go through half your deck on average (and have them survive, and have earth quanta) to use the ability.  Getting the earth quanta even in monolife wouldn't be too bad; you could use upped gnomes or an earth mark to make it work.

I agree with the above. Getting out five Treefolk would be a hassle and the card wouldn't be used much unless upped. I'd go with one-creature count drop for both.

Alternative: Any permanent destroyed for 5x Treefolk | 4x Treeant. Or a +1 ability cost. Whatever.

I will most likely change it to three Treefolks needed (which is easy enough to get with Mitosis).

As for the Earth cost, it's terribly easy to get. Unupped, you practically need a duo or rainbow, but upped Gnomes are awesome - especially so with Adrenaline...
