Three-man Team PvP - Rules
Original idea by: Demagog   |   Developed by: Demagog   |   Art by: N/A   |   Organized by: TStar
Teams of three players compete in a double-elimination format using only their personal, team, and battle elements against their opponent.

How To Sign Up
Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.

For Three-man Team PvP, you must have a team in order to compete. In this event, teams consist of three members. Once you have a team of three people, one of you must post in the sign-up thread listing your Team Name, Team Element, Forum name for each member, and each players personal element.  The team element and personal elements that are chosen will remain the same throughout the event so make sure you choose them carefully.  Players cannot select the same personal element as their team element and no two teammates are allowed to have the same personal element.

Players who do not have a team may sign-up in the Substitute thread where they will be randomly paired with teammates or listed as substitutes to replace players who can no longer compete.

Deckbuilding
Players build decks that can consist only of cards from their team, personal, and battle elements.  Battle elements are randomly determined before each matchup is posted.  Battle elements cannot be either players personal element or team element and will always be something else.

The size of each deck is not limited, however a maximum of 2/3 of your deck can be from any single element.  This means all decks must be a duo or trio.  The spoiler below contains a table of the maximum amount of cards your deck can contain from any single element based on deck size.

The use of cards from the Other category as well as upgraded cards is not allowed.  Mark Cards are permitted and are considered to be of the element they represent and will count as a card of that element.

Brackets
This event is a double-elimination tournament and uses two kinds of brackets: winners brackets and losers brackets. Every team starts out in the winners brackets. When you lose the first time, you will drop down to the losers bracket. When you lose the second time, you will be eliminated from the event. The final match will be between the winner of winners brackets, and the winner of losers brackets.

In short, if you lose two times, you are out. If you don't lose two times, you win.

Duels
Players have until the posted deadline to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event Organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.  It is strongly encouraged to copy the Event Organizer on any PMs you send.  Any player who fails to complete two matches over the course of the event will be considered to have quit and be removed and subject to supplemental discipline.

Team orders will be randomized before each round and you will face the player on the other team opposite from you in the matchup table.  Players will then fight a best-of-three match to determine the winner.  Players are permitted to change decks between battles.

Desynchs will be replayed using the same decks and marks. If one player agrees that they would have lost that game, their opponent is awarded the win and the two players may move on to the next game, if needed.  If there is any dispute over a result, simply replay the game and PM the Event Organizer with the match in question.  The Organizer will then determine whether the original match should have been awarded or if the replay should count.

A2 will use :water :air :death and fight B2 who will use :fire :aether :death
A3 will use :water :light :time and fight B3 who will use :fire :air :time

After Duels
When you complete a battle, both players will mmediately post the battle results along with the decks they used in the matchup thread. A summary of what occurred is also encouraged.  Make sure your deck is EXACTLY what you played, you MUST keep codes.  Any player who delays posting their decks after the match risks forfeiture or even removal from the event.  Editing your post containing the decks you used is discouraged but not prohibited.

Substitutions
If a player drops out or is removed from the event for any reason, the Event Organizer will replace them with a player off the Substitution List.  If a player alerts the Event Organizer before the start of the round that they will be unable to play their match a temporary substitute will be arranged by RNGing someone from the Substitution List and the missed match will not count against that player.  Each player is allowed to use a temporary substitute only once during the event.  Any player alerting the Event Organizer after the round starts is not guaranteed to be able to have a substitute so make sure you inform the organizer ahead of time.

PvP Parasite Warning System
In addition to all the rules stated already, this event operates under the PvP Parasite Warning System (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,25593.0.html) rules as well.  Please make sure you read and fully understand them before joining this event.
Carpe Diem!!

I think you really need to get rid of the double-elimination format. Just about every Event where it is used turns into a slugfest. Loser's bracket is incredibly long and you will just feel swamped, whereas in Winner's bracket you get to wait forever until Loser's bracket is finished. I'd propose the following format: A set number of swiss rounds (dependant on the number of participants), and the Top 4 of that play out the winner by single elimination. It basically has the same effect as double elim (a certain number of losses and you're out) while not taking as long. There's also fewer problems if a team decides to go inactive or is not motivated anymore as Swiss system can handle drops without a problem.

Why don't we just develop a program to simulate with stacked decks? :P

All joking aside, I would prefer best of three in this format. Unlike War, most matches in a tourney format are directly dependent on two matches before it, and minimizing the amount of time and drama needed is better imo.
