War is a sport. Now it's a REAL sport! https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=32323.msg408357#msg408357

Artimies7's Secret Project, Revealed!
You got it everybody! My Secret Project, which has eaten weeks of my life, destroyed the quality of my fingertips, and nearly broke a couple appliances, is done.

...And if you're finished celebrating, let me show you the pictures.

That's right. Team Jerseys.

Ok, so I took a sharpie and stenciled the marks on shirts. So what, haters? It's not like I'm a fashion designer here.

This is basically the way these are designed: I've got the marks on the front and back, with 'TEAM' or a pocket on the front, and my username and 'elementsthegame.com' on the back. You'll see.

DISCLAIMER: Some of these photos are pretty bad. If I can get better ones, I'll update this post. [And I was using my DS camera, btw. So no, I can't mess with the flash or the zoom or anything like that.]

'TEAM' is right there. See?
If you think I'm using flash, I'm not. That's a desk lamp that I'm holding up.

Air was actually one of the easiest to make. So as not to spoil the Blitzing fun, I added some borders at the last second.

Around the sleeves, and around the bottom hem, right next to the logo.

If you're seeing this, you're probably going straight to your favorite element. Don't. I explain things in these first spoilers.

The color messed up on this one, simply because of the finicky fabric. Don't worry, I'll point out the right color.

[This is the right color, approx.]

I must say, this is one of the coolest looking ones of all. Simply because I took some creative liberties with the silver.

You see? Plus, I figured that the mark would make a pretty good weapon if carved out of steel and stuck on a pole.

I could not have done this without my bleach pen. Thank you, bleach company!

Now, with the purple lightened up, one could say there's hellfire around the writing. Which is pretty boss.

And yes, the logo is off-center with some of these shirts. I sort of learned as I went along.

Dammit, Earth. Your color doesn't show up without losing the mark.

Interesting story about this back side. So I'm making the white bit on the front with bleach, but it doesn't turn out white, right? Idea! I root around in cupboards for a while until I find some fabric paints. Little bottles as they are, they only do the front side and the lettering. 11 at night, won't be back in the house for a week. What do I do? I improvise. (I'm really good at improvising. I'll tell you about the door with two knobs later.) I take a tube sock that's on my foot currently, cut it up, sew it on, and voila! An Earth mark! (I'm also good at sewing. Sewing straight, not so much. But I'm getting there, truly I am.)

This one's just to show you the correct color of the shirt. Sorry for the fuzziness.

Any splurts are courtesy of those itty bitty fabric paint bottles. Rilly not much in them.

Oh my gosh, Zeru, I am so so sooo sorry. Entropy was the last shirt in the drawer, and even then it took a while. First I wrecked the shirt, then I couldn't find an  :entropy-colored shirt without bunnies and 'Girl Power' (Which would have been fun for the girls, yes. But not for me. I'd get laughed at.) So I had to go dye one, and then worry about angle so that it didn't look TOO horrible, and still freaked out when the bleach took out more color than other shirts!

I wanted to make it up to you. So, just like with Air, I added some border deco.

It's my own personal design, on the jersey just for that hated Maxwell's Demon.

Seriously you guys. No peeking!

~NAPS: The pictures don't do this one justice. The orange bit is really Gold, and the rest of it is red like you wouldn't believe.

I only wish that I was a better photographer. But this will have to do, unless you all want to buy plane tickets and fly over here yourselves. [I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that that's not practical for most of you.]

Finally. This came out right. //phew

Gravity. Like a boss.

But really, this set of photos are most likely just perfectly capturing the essences of the shirt, if not making them look better than they actually are. Revel in it.

Life, you are one of the first I honored with a shirt. Plus, you have sleeves.

Why? I happened to be wearing this at the time when I first brainstormed this Idea.

I wore this one to a concert.

A word of warning, though. If you go ahead and muck one of these up in your evenings, then beware the washer. Sharpies fade, unless you use special fabric pens. Which I wasn't.

Yup. Another classy shirt with a pocket.

I must admit, the smaller mark stencils were a bit of work though.

I did touch it up with a bit of gold, just to see what would happen. (Not much.)

First time I tried this one, I mucked up the bleach. It was a horrible, horrible mess. Don't ask for pictures; I want to preserve my standings.

And I think the lettering messed up. I was using an old marker, after all. [Note to self: Redo Water jersey first.]

Ah, Underworld. The team that isn't a team, but a collection of begrudged outcasts who saw acceptance and fell on their face.

I had to do something nice for you guys. So, in detail:

Thank you, thank you. I did it all for the love of the game. As an added bonus, whichever team wins the war will be the team that has their jersey modeled by yours truly, on a rooftop, in the Official Members Pictures Thread.

How's that for motivation?

I must thank my two cats.

Velcro, relaxing with a fluffle that I had lying around.

Scathach, just growing up.

That is all.

Impressive! I think the Death shirt is my favorite. The bleach markers made for a neat effect on that one.

If only zanz would start some sort of souvenir shop. I would buy a shirt if someone made an artistic template on http://www.zazzle.com/ or something like that

Yea, the :death one is cool. Pretty awesome (and crazy) project :)

This has been suggested earlier. Here's one topic about it where I posted some zazzle images: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3246.0.html as an example.

The problem with selling t-shirts is that huge majority of the revenue goes to the company that makes the t-shirt. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I think something like 5% goes to the person who designed the shirt. When you compare that to the 100% you have in donations, it's easy to see why donations are the #1 way to support Elements development.

I did talk to Zanz about Elements merchandise at some point. My suggestion was to contact some local company that doesn't take as big of a slice as http://www.zazzle.com/ does. But even with local companies, the revenue won't be anything close to what donations give, so it's probably not a good idea, unless it could be guaranteed that having merchandise wouldn't negatively affect the number of donations.

Well, if a trusted member of the community made the stuff and kept only enough proceeds for new materials, but donated the rest of the money that would work out for everyone.
