ART: public domain: http://www.sxc.hu/photo/1001680 the Manuz mark edit: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,22496.msg342871#msg342871 IDEA: moomoose NOTES: More cards are being produced which take into account the Mark's element as well as the creature's element, and it may be beneficial to have a means to expand which cards can be influenced by these new cards.  The restriction being having a Mark and at least one Prismatic permanent in play in order to expand their reach. This card will not make your mark produce extra quanta and pendulums will not be altered.  This card does not take into consideration other passive abilities such as "Undead" or "Airborne", only element. The basic card will affect cards such as Shard of Gratitude, Shard of Void and Shard of Conscience (as it is currently designed). The upgraded card will affect all of the cards that the basic version will, but also have an impact on cards such as Flooding, Holy Light, Shard of Readiness, Shard of Patience and Nightfall Basic Example: You have a Mark of Light, a Prismatic Light in play, and you put a Shard of Gratitude into play, it will produce 5 health per turn, as if you had a Mark of Life. Upgraded Example: You have a Mark of Light, a Prismatic Illumination in play, and three Ray of Lights in play, you play a Shard of Patience, the three Ray of Lights will gain +2|+2 as if they were Water creatures. Fail Example: You have a Mark of Entropy, a Prismatic Illumination in play and a Deja Vu in play, you play Nightfall and nothing special happens.  You are using the wrong Mark, you fail. The cost may be low, it will probably go up.  Have to take into account the limitation to Mark of Light and the complicated coordination in order to pull off the initially scary combinations.  Originally I was only going to have it affect the Mark, but there are not yet very many cards which look at the Mark. I like the concept.  Is there another reason behind the required  mark, aside from theme?

A limitation to aid in balance.  Combined with theme, it seems ample reason to fit as light.

So if you had a SoG and a played a SoD, would you get the benefits of both as if your mark was both  and  ?

So it's basically making your mark  and getting the benefit of all the marks right?

Yep, essentially.  It functions as a Mark of Light still in terms of producing quanta and when pendulums are put into play.

1) Why only Mark of Light?
2) What is this doing to the Elemental? (The Mark is part of the Elemental)
3) Shard of Patience was changed to +1|+0 to avoid persisting Fractal Sparks. Will Shard of Patience + Prismatic Illumination have a high enough cost for this combo?

1) a) to restrict the mark chosen b) because you need light before this can make it prismatic c) because it is in the art.
2) ... is this a roleplaying/lore question?  someone else can come up with a creative answer to this, its really not my thing.  and considering you can change your element/mark every match, it seems kinda irrelevant.
3) fractal + sparks + SoP was a three card combination, that is now a four card combination, so the draws will be even less consistent and harder to pull off.

I find it interesting that it only works for  marks, yet, it technically allows  s to act as if they are any mark, and their creatures to make use of any elemental bonus.
Out of curiousity, what happens if u holy light/holyflash a creature under this effect? do they count as  / or not?

1)they either get healed or damaged. 50% chance of both
2)Nothing happens
3)I have no idea and should let the card creator say.
