Note: this guide is more than a year old.  You can try it, but don't expect it to work flawlessly in today's environment.

In this weeks "doom to y'all" thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3139.0.html), OneTwo said:

Quote from: OneTwo
After the changes [from version .04 to version 1.19], there doesn't seem to be any reliable method for getting gold to upgrade your cards beyond taking a Darkness or Time-Earth deck and mindlessly fighting the level 3's day after day after day.

Sure there is.  I have no idea why everyone thinks you have to skip from AI3 straight to False Gods, but it's simply not true.  If you want to become uber (i.e. farm FGs), you need three things:

1) You must complete the 500-point quest.
2) You must have put together this deck. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1615.0.html)
3) You must KNOW THE FALSE GODS like the back of your hand.  That means:
   A) Playing against them several dozen times each until you have an intuitive grasp of their core strategy.  Note that this involves losing nearly every game until you start to 'get it'.  Start the processing KNOWING that this MUST happen so you don't give up and Cartman your way back home.
   B) Going to the Elements Wiki (http://elementsthegame.wikia.com/wiki/Elements_the_Game_Wiki) and reading up on each of their complete decklists so you're never caught off guard.
   C) Reading up on The False Gods (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,15.0.html) and the Anti False-God Decks (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/board,87.0.html) here on the forum, to get an understanding of what their vulnerabilities are and how players have exploited them in the past.

So, how do you actually get there?

Well, if I had to reset my account today, I'd kill myself.  Then, I'd do this:

(0) Choose Aether.  But for those of you who have already chosen your element:)
1) Read this thread. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1190.0.html)
2) Follow it's advice.
3) Grind AI3 with the resultant deck until I could build This deck. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3154.0.html)
4) Grind Halfbloods until I beat the 500-point quest.
5) Choose Eternity as my 500-point weapon.
(5a: If you've already chosen your weapon and need an Eternity, go to Chat or the t50 section of the boards [see the end of this thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,562.0.html), in particular] and request an Eternity Farm, and grind until you win one.)
6) Keep grinding Halfbloods until I had enough money to build this deck. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1615.0.html).
7) Check off every item on the above list of "requirements for Uberity".
8) Start grinding False Gods and saving up for This deck, (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1748.0.html) but that's because it works for my playstyle.  At this point, you're already uber and whatever choice you make won't change that.

This is not rocket science.  If there is a way to fight Halfbloods instead of AI3 -- and there is -- why would you ever not take it?  The 1.5% chance of winning an upgraded card is a HUGE boost to your potential profit, and when you only need to upgrade 7 cards to have a fighting chance against the game's final level of opponent, you can get there suprisingly fast.

Don't get mad.  Get UBER.

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

So how much money do you need to buy the deck you have in #8?

Essence, I'm not sure how good it works, but you could post Levgre's attempt at a cheap non-upgraded anti-FG deck (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4912.0.html) (after some testing, ofc) instead of SG's deck, since it has 5 less upgrades..

Does the deck of number 6 works with only 2 otys upgraded and the fallen druid or do you have to get ALL the Electrum Hourglasses?

The Otys are the most important part, then the Hourglasses.  Not having the Hourglasses upgraded really does hurt, but it's not utterly crippling like the unupgraded Otys are.  Fallen Druid is important to upgrade, but not mission critical -- but if you have it, use it. :)

An unupped Elf is quite useful sometimes. When you use it to mutate enemy big creatures, at least you don't get some dragons with devour against you. ;-)
So as Essence pointed out, first otys, then hourglasses, then pillars/elf, as you like.

Fallen druid is in my opinion much better in many situations, so I would not recommend upgrading pillars before him.

Basically, when you mutate enemy creatures you do it to reduce damage taken, but changing a dragon into abomination reduces damage only partially... upgraded mutation has a relatively high chance of creating something edible by otys, and even if it is not you can mutate it one turn later or rewind it (changing abomination into abomination is rarely worth it)... unless it's burrowed or ethereal, but it's worth risking sometimes. And most of the cases FG will not have the right quantum to use it's ability.

On the other hand using upgraded mutation on your creatures gives you almost always a huge boost in power. Want to destroy something, but already have eternity out? Mutate a creature with steal or destroy. Want to kill Miracle before he miracles? Mutate a dragon with dive or deja vu. Need creature control? Mutate a colossal dragon with devour ;) Got a nymph with heal? Rewind and use it's real ability.

Of course it's much more random than unupped elfs ability, but on average it is much better saves you more often and is much more interesting.
May the force of the D4HK side be with U ^_^

From my (brief, unscientific, opinionated) experience, Halfbloods all the way in terms of Electrum per hour.  The delays involved in PvP are significant enough to remove it as a money grinding option.
