It seems like a slightly less efficient permanent version of a rustler

It should be less efficient.
the deck that it would be best in is an Elite Queen deck all a player would need is enough air to get out the queen and a leaf dragon and this.

you would need to somehow get the 1 :life to actually play the leaf dragon first.  And then somehow get the :light quanta to use its effect to gain :life and produce fireflies...and then you can play this card and start generating more :light to use leaf dragon's effect and so on?  ??? ???
It would seem that you would still need light/life pillars/pends in addition to the air pillars to start that deck, in which case why would you want this card or the leaf dragon in the first place?

Also, I don't see why this has to be inefficient.  Especially for the unupped, it seems better just to run a light pillar guess I got ninja'd

My reasoning (the short version): Since the card needed to use  :fire anyways, there was no need for the hybrid  :fire/ :light cost. The primary usage would always cast it using :fire.

Fire stalls can pack Miracles without resorting to Pendulums, then play them on the fly.  Also, Crusader Fahrenheit can be run entirely on Fire pillars and Mark.  Also, Rangel...

The stability of quantum production it offers these three decktypes in particular frightens me.

The problem here is that both fire and light have a huge number of alternative quantum sources (from immolation to solar shield). Also light and fire are very complementary and their combinations are all powerful. The principle of this card is good but considering the two preceding points I think it shouldn't be. I would rather see something like that between two elements having weaker interactions: :life and :aether or :time and :water ...

This is one possible deck that this would be in.
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]

burning pillar = Pyriel's Torch

I think Fire to Light conversion is needed and has plenty of thematic logic behind it.

Firestall has enough love already. I agree with SnoWeb, this should be focusing on a different couple of elements. Something that hasn't got much synergy.

I Originally thought that, but OT thinks 1 :fire :2 :light is fine. I thought 2 :fire :1 :light was Safer.

I may revamp this Idea completely but first I would like to see the decks that have been mentioned.
If I do revamp this I would need suggestions. This must stay tied to Fire and Light.
