IDEA:
moomoose
NOTES:
alternative effect could be delaying opponent creatures for one turn after sorrows death

the general idea for this card was to put a twist on the "upon death" mechanic to something that is explicitly the death of this particular creature, rather than the death of *any* creature.

I like it a lot! Although I think the 'delaying creatures for one turn' fits better thematically. Mainly because if they were to lose on attack, in life people often times fight harder after a loved one's death. Hmm, maybe...based on that it could add attack to allies. Although I prefer your idea.

Living referring to creatures on the field, or perhaps a passive: Living?  Would Skellies and Mummies perhaps then not have Living?

whoops, forgot to put in the clarification about "living", it basically means anything which is not marked as "undead", but i suppose the definition could be made more precise with applying a "living" passive to selected creatures to have it not affect creatures such as photon, which are clearly not living creatures in the conventional sense.

Also, IMO -1 atk is rather weak.  Perhaps bump it up to -2 each?

You could also make the definition of 'living creature' be 'not a death element creature'.  I'm trying to go from memory, but Death has Mummy, Skeleton, and Bone Dragon that are clearly undead, and Flesh Spider and Retrovirus that are not undead.  (have I missed any?  I play death the least of any element so I'm not sure)

The other thing you could do is change the upgraded card to affect only opponent's living creatures, if you wanted.  I'd probably increase the cost by one quanta or make the upgraded one only a 4/2 instead of a 5/2 if you did that.  It's not necessary to do so, but it's another thing to think about; up to you if that's an improvement or not.

Is there any way for another creature to get Schrodinger's Cat's ability?  If this could somehow gain that ability, it would be sick :p  However, I can't ever remember seeing a mutant with the dead/alive ability so I don't think it's possible.

Also, would this ability work on immortal creatures?  Based on the way Elements behaves with other cards, it would be consistent to say that it wouldn't work on them.  (I know when I first started I had a few 'wtf' moments when things like Firestorm didn't hurt Phase Dragon, for instance)

What about making the second one Grief?  That would make more sense, as sorrow is being sorry, kinda sincere sadness. Grief means pure sadness, loss of a loved one, like my bro's cat Runo. Anyway thats offtopic.
