kevkev 3 - dracomageat 2

This was... not a tremendous amount of fun.  lol.  Too many desyncs.

We desync'd a bunch of times trying to get the game going, a portent of things to come.  draco used a 30-card dimshield/mindgate deck.  During the first real game he CS'd my phase spider, rewinding it, which made it look as if I'd deck him.  10 cards out we desync'd.  The next game I lost the toss and I didn't get a rewind.  We desync'd late but I'm confident I would've decked so I just gave it to him.

The ugliest rush you ever did see.  I found a great mix of EQs, pillars, and damage.  He was one quanta short of getting his first shield up in time.

During G2 I realized draco hadn't taken any damage cards.  We desync'd halfway through but he conceded.

I figured he'd bump up to a fatter deck and rather than build a 60-card deckout and let the coinflip decide I decided to give the ugliest rush another shot.  Playing is more fun than not playing.  He had plenty of quanta this time and found 4-5 shields in his fattened deck.

With no PC and no real rush I just decided to strap on a 60-card deck and leave it to a coinflip if need be.  draco took something like 50 cards.  We desync'd (of course), allowing him to see my deck before I saw his.  He deserves a lot of credit for conceding rather than backing out and making his deck 60 cards.  Thanks for the matches and staying true to your moral compass, draco.  I promise the next time we play it'll be more fun.  :))

Bah, ggs mrpaper.  1-3.  I completely countered him the first game.  He changed up his deck after the first match, and plain outrushed me with Phase Spiders.  Phase Spiders!

Picks:
A10 - Guardian Angel
B4 - Phase Shield
C9 - Relic
D5 - Mindgate

Game 1: I won the coin toss, so he went second and was 1 card down from me. That was pretty much what sealed the game, after we started I realized i should have made it 31 cards, but thankfully RNG came through and I didn't need it. Tons of fast Pillars for me, combined with slow quanta from dd (I instantly knew toadies from Water mark/Air pends, and was relieved once I saw OE as it meant he wouldn't have Dragons). 2 Aboms met a Wings, after which I did nothing but put up a Diss Field and play Pillars. We desynced halfway through, but dd conceded as his damage was never going to break by quanta before the generation>his damage.

Game 2: Toadies meant to Steal and no Pulvy, the only 2 PC cards on the board. Thus I felt confident in this deck, slightly less so when I saw AN Aether mark from him and hoped it wasn't Minggate vs. Mindgate. He was playing a weird trio, :time/ :light/ :aether, with Dune Scorps, Blessings, and Phase Shields, respectively. Didn't see anything else. Good fortune meant I won the toss again and he'd deck our first, which was no trouble at all seeing the amount of Shields I got from dd plus my own.

(Same deck as above, with 3 Aether and 2 Time Factories added. The Time Factories because if he had Eternity it'd be easy to deck me out, but he'd have to run pends with a Time mark to stop me from being able to play a copy. They were insurance that didn't work out)
Game 3: Saw a 40 card deck and hoped he had Eternity, but alas, to no avail. Pretty slow game, he had Wings, so even though I eventually got a 46/41 Phase Recluse out and 5 3/4 Scorps, nothing happened. I decked out.

Game 4: Didn't expect Eternity since he didn't have one last game, so a 60 card stall was the way to go. Had dd used Dims instead of Wings here, he'd have won, however, an early Dragon+Archangel rushed him too fast. He still have close, though, 2 turns away from killing me with Scorps.

GGs, dd.

I ask nothing of humanity but fairness in all things, but I do not expect even that.

mrpaper3 -coinicch 1

game 1 Loss
He had dune scorpions while I had a deck made with phase shield and mindgate.  I also add the lobotomizer to reduce the scorps damage a lot!  The problem was, I wasnt making enough damage with just the lobo and the only damage I could draw from him was his scorpion but he had no gravity quanta (was his mark).

Played variation of this deck.

Battle1:Mirror match,he got a better draw and won.
Battle2:Again a mirror match.Got a decent sh-- draw(1 pillar) but i got some pillars from draws,i only needed dragons from draw but got more pillars.
Battle3:RNG screwed me again,1 pillar draw.He got 5 pillars,but no rustler.

Ok...that's my 2nd mirror match lost.
You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody's crazy.

Kaker ~ 3
Napalm ~ 2

This was my basic strategy. Steal was sitting next to a 5 Relic spot, I doubted that it'd be taken. Admittedly, I did overlook Pulverizer, but I figured I'd use Chargers as damage to get past any other Shield I might need to worry about. Lightning was to either stop enemies with Momentum or finish off the opponent earlier than scheduled.

Game 3 - Loss

I tried using this to take control of the board. Turns out, 1 Eternity can't control anything, it can only stall for time.

Now I just wanted to dump Chargers as fast as possible and kill as many of HIS chargers as they came out. I ALMOST rushed him with Gravity, but he managed to fly 1 OE and get an EE on the field at the LAST possible moment to prevent me from sneaking in the win.

Long Story Short. My decks could handle his Pulvy + EQ, but could not handle Chargers + Eagles Eye. I SHOULD have been able to pull out the first win though. 3 Dim Shields were hiding in the last 8 cards of my deck. His only damage was EE's. I might have squeaked out a win had I stalled until the last possible second then spammed Chargers and used remaining lightnings on his hp. I was denied my chance when a didn't top deck a shield :\

Kakerlake 3 - 2 Napalm

1st: Dim Owls wins
Code: [Select]

Additionally, 3 shields were hiding in her last few cards. Didn't matter though, since I would have won by deckout otherwise.

2nd: Chargerquake loses
Code: [Select]
593 593 593 593 593 593 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 745 745 745 745 745 745 77f 77f 77fAgain, pretty straight forward. Lightning > Chargers. Also, my pulvy didn't show up.

[15:54:43] ~Napalm [»] Kakerlakee: That match was entirely about your Chargers vs my Lightnings. Everything else was pretty much a moot point. lol
3rd: Charging Owls wins

576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 5oc 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5ol 5ol 5ol 5pu 745 745 745 745 745 745 7n5 7n5 7n5Strange desynch happened here, I played vs. Napalm while she was away, in the garden with her uncle (or something). Anyway, she played by hitting always space after 20 seconds, leaving me wondering what's up.

We replayed and I won. Again, Owls > Chargers.

4th: Flying EQ Chargers loses
Code: [Select]
55l 55l 593 593 593 593 593 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 5aa 745 745 745 745 77f 77f 77f 7n2 7n2Playing with EQ vs. a 18 Pillar deck is... not very effective. She outrushed me with 2 fast chargers and my rushing part came waay too slow. Yet again: Lightning > Charger.

5th: Charging Owls wins
Code: [Select]
576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 576 5oc 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5oi 5ol 5ol 5ol 5pu 745 745 745 745 745 745 7n5 7n5 7n5Owls > Chargers... if only I had realized this a little sooner, I would have won 3-0 *cough*

Thanks for the match napalm, even though the desynching and not playing part was >>> playing part, it was very enjoyable and a nice match!

summary of desyncs and other errors:
error, overflow!

valuka 1 - 3 Five In One

I wanted some fun deck to build for the last rounds.
Was very unlucky there...
1. match i used this:

Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vh 4vh 5c1 5c1 61q 61q 61q 61t 61t 61t 621 621 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u9 77f 77f 77f 80a 80a 80a 8pu

won
2. 3. 4. round used this:
Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4sa 4vh 4vh 5c1 5c1 61q 61q 61q 61t 61t 61t 621 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u9 77f 77f 77f 77f 80a 80a 80a 8pu

And no Pulverizer in my hand in any game for his Shield and Eternity... In the 2. i has i think 13 cards left, the 3. around the same, the last 9. Amazing.
My picks:

A1 Lightning
B4 Dimensional Shield -> target
C5 Pandemonium
D12 Precognation
E10 Enchant Artifact
F2 Flooding
G3 Wings
H11 Quintessence
I7 Pulverizer
J9 Ghost of the Past -> target
K8 Lycantrope
L6 Forest Spirit -> target

I spend 4 Relics to upgrade.
Was not so GG's Five In One :D . For me, i mean :D

Five in One - 3
valuka - 1

Good games valuka! Today really was not your day at all. Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rr 5rr 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 7q3 7q3 7q3 7q8 7qcLoss: His heavy CC with a touch of PC complemented his two growing Forest Spirits nicely. I managed to get him down a decent amount, but with everything I played being destroyed on his next turn, valuka crushed me.
Code: [Select]
55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 55q 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rm 5rm 5rm 5rm 5ro 5ro 5rr 5rr 5rr 5rr 5rt 5rt 5rt 5rt 7q3 7q3 7q3 7q8(2, 3, 4) Win: For the next 3 games, valuka had to have the worst luck ever. In almost all of the games, he didn't manage to get a Pulverizer until over half his deck was gone, and by that point neurotoxin and damage from my dragons made it impossible to make a comeback. On top of that, on most games I was able to get my Eternity and Turtle Shield out before he managed to play a creature, forcing him to wait until he got a Quintessence to play them. These games had to be slow and painful for valuka, and it was a shame we couldn't have a match where luck automatically decided the victor. :(
That was some insanely bad luck on your side, valuka. Hopefully you do much, much better in the last round of The Grid.

Also, looking forward to a rematch sometime in the future! :)
