This card requires one of: Skeleton, Boneyard, Enemy Skull Shield.
I believe that is too restrictive. As a rule of thumb I use a card the requires a combo must be able to be unilaterally operated in at least 3 combos.
What if mummies became Bone Dragons?

Maybe I should just increase the damage, the effect in itself is pretty decent and the ability to generate Skeletons is not that difficult.

On the whole I like the idea, has real potential to be another great tool in deaths arsenal, and give boneyard more playability.

Turning a Skeleton into a Mummy just doesn't make sense.  No one is going to unearth a normal skeleton to wrap it up, and they're certainly not going to want anything to do with one that's ambulatory and might rip out their throat.  If you wanted to Mummify something, have it be a target non-undead creature.

not quite.  the cat triggers death effects of abilities which occur when *anything* dies, but not things that happen when *it* dies, ie the cat's ability wont trigger a phoenix to into ash, ergo a creature wouldnt die and turn into a mummy when the cat uses its ability.

but this is probably a better ability overall, regardless of its lack of interaction with the cat.

When in play, boneyards have a 50% chance to generate mummies instead of skeletons. :D

Or, so that you can turn pharaohs into mummies:
