If you have Time Nils, make a word document with some thoughts on strategy. I'm having trouble summarizing how the event card will affect this round.

Also, torb will kill us all if he finds out!

Spoiler for Jappert on his Light duel:

This was the PU/Dragon deck I used last round vs ak65ala:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
55q 55q 55q 576 576 576 5id 5id 5id 5id 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 5jm 61r 61r 61r 61r 61r 8pu

The big reason why I am putting it here is because I did a lot of testing vs the two stall decks that Light used previously and with good results.

Firstly the Fire/Light stall:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f4 5f5 5f5 5f7 5f7 5fb 5fb 5fb 5fb 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5lm 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 8po

I struggled a lot in testing at first, only winning about 50% of the games.  This got better once I worked out (thanks Tiko) how important the momentum was and how to time damage bombing.

The momentum keeps the fire shield away (obv) but, perhaps more importantly, it means his cc doesn't work as well.  That extra HP for your dragons means he needs to use more cc or he has to waste bolts on your dragons.

With a good quanta draw, I found that the trick is to be as patient as possible.  Waiting until you can put down 3, 4 or - even better - 5 momentum'd dragons in one turn.  More often than not this resulted in a win.

This deck did not have miracle... there is a good chance the event card for this round will change that and I think the deck will be MUCH stronger because of it.

Secondly: the Earth/Light stall coinch used in Round 5:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
593 593 593 593 593 593 594 594 594 594 594 594 5lm 5lm 5lm 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 5mq 77c 77c 7k2 7k2 7k2 7k2 8pm

Remember he had upgrades but this is a better version of this stall than the one they have used previously.

*more to come later*
It is too late to apologise.  I have already forgiven you.

Thanks alot Boot!

I am quite sure they'll want to bring PA's against us. We've flashed our tridents quite alot. ( ::))

This would make the earth deck more likely vs us, wich means I need to be very carefull with the pends I play... Both Dragons and PU are expensive.
I will need to do some testing before I say more, thanks again!

I agree about them wanting to bring PA's against the threat of our tridents - which would lean towards the earth/light stall.  Happily the PU/Dragons like that :)  If you can eliminate some of their other decks options by analysing their previous round and give yourself some clarity on them using one of the stalls then I highly recommend the PU/Dragons.

On their decks from last round:  we must remember that their vault is flawed.  We know this from their odd suicide against :aether and the explanations of why they did that.  They also had a very poor round which will no doubt have complicated their vault problems further.  I expect to see some odd stuff crop up from them this round.

Also, looking at the decks that lost in Round 5, we can see that they used two light/time combinations.  Both of which lost.  Hopefully this means that dune scorps are less likely.  However, I am thinking that as a general strategy that packing purifies is always a good thing, healing is healing and it helps to make the 35 card count work.

Going back a further round, we can see that Light has had two losses with Light/Gravity combinations - one from Round 4 and another from Round 5.  I feel this rules out a lot of their gravity options.

Lastly, I put together a set of Light's recent winners before my duel with ak65ala.  In spoilers below.  Combined with Tiko's deck compilation thread from Round 5 it may be useful to see what can be expected from them in Round 6.

Just putting this here for discussion - vinvick has rightly pointed out that air pendulums are in short supply if Girl Powah is used:
