IDEA:
Zblader, inspired by Emeraldtiger
NOTES:
This was inspired by the Pseudo-element Spirit as well as a little discussion I had with ET about a shield that had an HP of it's own. It's not as strong or renewable as Bonewall but it does have the potential to be played quicker at the risk of injuring the player.

Card stacks.

I am considering the following:

"Attempting to destroy this card will remove 30 "HP" off of it's stack instead. Steal transfers the HP but also triggers the Max HP effect."

This is a good idea, though it seems unbalanced to me, what is the point of the unupped? it costs 7 and 30 maxhp and blocks 30 damage... pointless

Could you please explain why it is pointless? You could quickly cover the HP problem with an SoD, and it is more usuable in multielement or non-death decks.

The point is to play it after you've been damaged.  It drains maximum HP.

Still, I'm not sure how it lines up with Shard of Divinity and Heal.  This gets less mileage per quantum, and is vulnerable to PC.

tbh, I'd get better usage from 2 Improved Heals, even if they cost 2 cards.

Despite the drawback of being hurt it still looks I overdid the drawback a bit too much (Nepy is correct about 2 Improved Heals/SoDs outperforming this in it's current state).

Card Changed:
Lowered it to 20 | 10 Max HP drain, and lowered playing cost by 1.

This shield is pretty situational though... I'm not sure whether I'd prefer playing this or (any kind of) healing card instead.
10 max HP however sounds a lot better.

The upped version should cost 1 more and absorb 10 more damage. It is good for stalling but it should take off 20 hp and absorb 45 damage so it can take a lot

If the card can afford a -2 cost by theory then it should be able to get an increase in stalling power as an alternative, to differentiate it's style of play from SoD (SoD focuses on Max HP and can be healed later on while Soul Barrier creates an extra "battery" of current HP instead and defends more short-term.)

HP absorbed raised to 40, and cost lowered to 5.
