My deck countered his.

Game 1: He played some novas, a Graviton Fire Eater, and a Catapult. I deflag'd the Catapult and got out a Phoenix and a Dragon. He couldn't do much while I had RT in my hand, and I played another Phoenix and beat him with pure damage.

Game 2: He started off with another Fire Eater, and this time he played a Titan. I started out with a Dragon and began playing Phoenixes. I deflag'd his Catapult and RT his BB'd Voodoo Doll. He then used BB on my creatures, but I still overpowered him.

Game 1: LOSS
Never drew a Voodoo Doll, not that it would have mattered.  I got my Fire Eater out to do a bit of damage and I put out an early catapult to dry and draw any Deflag he had.  Once he used it I got my Fog Shield out but it didn't really matter.  A pair of Crimson Dragons and a couple Phoenix were too much.  Decided to keep the 2 BB's in my hand unplayed so he wouldn't know I had them for the second game.  Yeah, I was grasping at straws......

Game 2: LOSS
About as good of a start as I could have hoped.  A couple early Nova and Pillars let me get a first turn Fire Eater and an early Titan out to whittle him down.  Again I tossed out a Catapult ASAP hoping he'd spare my main source of damage.  I knew he was packing RT so I held my Voodoo as long as I could hoping I could pull off a OTK BB'd Voodoo fling with my Catapult but he blew it up 2 turns too soon.  After that it didn't really matter, I played the Voodoo/BB/GP combo only to have him RT it as expected.  I blew the rest of the BB's on his creatures then but it didn't really matter, I knew my Fire Eater and Titan weren't going to win and races, especially without my getting the Fog Shield.  I came close, got him down to like 36hp but really it was no contest.
Carpe Diem!!

As I see it, this highlights one of the biggest weaknesses of gravity, especially within a format like this.  Gravity's strength is its creatures and it has a few of powerful cards that play off of them (Momentum, Catapult, Acceleration, Gravity Pull) and the plethora of CC available to almost every element makes it much harder to take advantage of this strength, not to mention Reverse Time, which can all but cripple almost any Gravity deck that is dependent upon buffing creatures.
