This is a guideline for event idea as posted by ScaredGirl (original post can be found HERE (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,11436.msg224661#msg224661)). Example used is Sideboard Event (which can be found HERE (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,16210.0.html)).
When posting an event idea, you are advised to closely follow this guideline. Feel free to add and remove any titles and replace text when needed. Pink colored text
is 'Sideboard' Event-specific whereas Yellow colored text
is PvPO comment. Code provided at the end of this example will have pink colored text that you need to edit to cater to your own event idea specifics.

Using up to 6 upgraded cards, players build a deck of any size and a sideboard of 15 cards. Cards from the sideboard can be used between duels to alter your deck. This is a double-elimination tournament.<-- A simple paragraph explaining how the event works / ruling / theme. Please state the tournament type here (see 3. Bracket for more information) -->
1. HOW TO SIGN UP?Anyone with a forum and a chat account can sign up for this event. Start by reading the rules very carefully. Then sign up by posting on a separate sign up topic. If you cannot find a sign up topic, or if it is locked, this event is not currently active, and you will have to wait for it to restart.
Maximum amount of participants for this event is
32. If the event is full, you can still sign up as a reserve player, and will get a chance to join the event if any of the 32 players doesn't show up during round 1.
<-- An event should have no less than 16 total participants, default value is set at 32 -->
2. GETTING READYBuild a deck of any size (from 30 to 60 cards), and build a sideboard of exactly 15 cards.- You may use any non-upgraded cards in the game.
- You may also use up to 6 upgraded cards. These upgraded cards can be in either your deck or your sideboard, or distributed between them both.
- The cards you choose to upgrade will stay upgraded during the whole event. You will not be able to change which cards are upgraded, nor can you downgrade them.
<-- This is the preparation phase for participants, mostly you'll want to specify what kind of deck(s) they can build for this event. Please include any banned / restricted cards list here. Use deck image generator function if necessary (
) -->
3. BRACKETSThis event is a
double-elimination tournament and uses two kinds of brackets: winners brackets and losers brackets. Everyone starts out in the winners brackets. When you lose the first time, you will drop down to the losers bracket. When you lose the second time, you will be eliminated from the event. The final match will be between the winner of winners brackets, and the winner of losers brackets.
In short, if you lose two times, you are out. If you don't lose two times, you win.
<-- Please specify the type of tournament used here. You can choose between Single Elimination (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_elimination) / Double Elimination (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_elimination) / Swiss System (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swiss_system) / Round Robin (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Round_robin). Please consult with PvPOs if you're using a different type -->
4. DUELSPlayers have 4 days to make the fight happen. They must contact their opponent using a PM, and try to find a time that suits both. If the fight doesn't happen, both players lose by default, unless one player is clearly more active in trying to find a suitable time. Event organizer will determine who the most active player was, and his or her word is final.
Matches are best-of-five. The first player who wins 3 individual duels, wins the match.
You are allowed to change your deck (and mark) by swapping cards between your deck and sideboard on a 1-for-1 basis at any time but you only have 3 minutes to do so. If it takes you longer than 3 minutes, it is considered a forfeit and the other player goes to next round.
It's a good idea to either record the matches, or take screenshots as proof, in case something weird, like a desync error, happens. Remember, a player who gets caught cheating, will be permanently banned from all Elements community PvP events, so please play fair.
<-- Default value for rounds is set at 4 days, matches are best of five (BO5). Please consult with PvPOs if you're using a different value -->
5. AFTER DUELSWinner should post a new topic in the "Battle Results" section, along with short description of how the match went.
Both the winner and the loser are required to post pictures of both their decks and their sideboards. After round 1, all decks and sideboards from all players are 100% visible to everyone. This means that starting from round 2, you will know what cards your opponent has available, and you should plan your strategy accordingly.
Remember, decks and sideboards may be arranged however you please at any time, as long as your sideboard always contains the required 15 cards. If you start the event with 34 cards and a sideboard of 15 cards, your deck must always have that same 34 cards.
6. WINNERWinner of the <-- type of tournament --> is the winner of the event.
7. REWARDSThe winner of the event will receive the following forum award icon:
