NOTES:
Passive Abilities: Airborne
New vanilla creature for Water. Gull & Albatross, being  :water, won't be affected by Flooding. A spin on the fact that an Albatross can stay at sea (on the wing) for an absurd length of time. Updated the card to add a scavenging effect.

Man this is just too similar to crawler to ever be worth anything. It's use would be limited to air blitz decks.

I think it would be better if it was more distinguished from crawler in some way.

Yeah, you can tell eh?

It was originally meant as an alternative to Condor, but I've caught too much flak from the community for trying to replicate that idea already. In trying to keep within the confines of Vanilla I fear I've encountered too many issues of the "not worth it" variety.

I thought about Dive for the upgraded but again, I suspect that leaves the confines of the Vanilla flavor.

Maybe you want vanilla all the way, but I can see this having some kind of synergy with Flooding beyond its immunity to drowning.  Perhaps if Flooding is in play, it'll gain +1|+1 per turn from eating fish?  (It wouldn't have to be on a water tile to get this effect.)  If that's too similar to Scavenger, maybe have it trigger a death effect every turn if Flooding is in play.  Synergy with :death - including Condors - but still fairly vanilla.

Just some thoughts.  I'm sure I can offer more if these don't suit.

I thought about the Flooding/ :death synergy while I was making the card, and the only thing I really came up with was a scavenger that benefits directly from the field being flooded. Something along the lines of "this creature gets +1|+0 for every creature that drowns." I tossed the idea aside as it seemed too situational to me. I still think scavenger would fit nicely with this card...thank you johann, food for thought there.

Flooding would certainly see more use if it had synergy with more cards.

quite like the idea for the floodling combo, would give floodling a bit more boost, and when I've ever near the cost I admit those seagulls are pretty much scavengers, so washed up dead creatures from a flood might be perfect for them...

Also, I agree about the tricky aspect to vanilla creatures, there's nothing 'new' about them, and most elements have some of all attack|HP ranges :s

Imagine a Fractal/Gull/Flooding combo.  For :water :water :water per turn you'd be gaining some pretty impressive attack.

On that note, a Fractal/Condor/Cat combo might be pretty crazy.

Updated. I feel better about this card now, but I'm still a little concerned with the casting cost of the unupped. I'd like to lower it to 3 or even 2, but I think that's pushing it. I believe scavenger is a 3 quanta ability, so I tried to reflect that here. Keep in mind tho these cards would only buff out from Flood or Inundation.
