This is my entry to the Card Border Redesign Competition. I went for a clean and modern look and chose to remake the symbols as well, and this is my first finished card:

I have four things to say:
1) Seems nice. But:
2) The space for the card text is cramped in the current design, I think reducing it even more is not recommandable...
3) The title of the card has a big size. What about longer names? Will things such as Shard of Gratitude or Permafrost Shield have the title size reduced? If it is so, I think you should reduce the size of "Phase Spider" as well: omologation is nice, different sizes and titles for different cards can be confusing and not really nice to see...
4) What is the symbol in the right bottom corner? You might want to explain that...

Kakerlake: I believe that there is no God as in something that can think by itself and does stuff that sounds way OP.

Thanks for the feedback! I was thinking about reducing the size of the text already, but hadn't come around doing something yet. You may have noticed I removed the creature symbol from the spider's picture. I made the symbol in the right bottom corner as a substitute. The symbol shows crossed claws of monsters ;)

I don't think there is a creature symbol.

Th closest thing is the X | X sign for its stats.

Uhm... what creature symbol? Creatures just have the atk|hp numbers to identify them...

Right -ehe- you got me! I added one. I wanted every card type to have one symbol, so I added one for creatures. The lines'd be longer for spells and permanents, as they have no attack or defense.
