So how about new cards that are Heroes.  They would have specific-type pro noun names.  Made up purely for this game.

Two ways of doing it;

Add a Hero slot, it would be not just another creature, but a new type of card.  You could only have one hero on your field at a time.

or

More like minor heroes, who you could multiple of on the field.

...

Perhaps both major heroes and then creature cards that are minor heroes.

Anyways, it would add some variety to the game AND would be nice to add onto the story of Elements.  Hearing about Ajit the Dragon Slayer (just for laughs) in a story would be quite exciting.

Ideally they would be powerful, perhaps some don't do direct damage, but have abilities like "Morale: If you have more health than the opponent, your creatures gain +0/+2" or something.

I rather like this idea.

You could give them impressive sounding abilities like:
Horn of Triumph:
(3 turn cooldown)
All your creatures gain +2|+0 until the end of your turn.

Every enemy creature has a 20% chance to become afraid (1 turn delay)

I approve if the heroes are all completely different. Some heroes will have damage abilities, some will have CC abilities, some will be vanilla, etc. Otherwise it would screw up balancing. For example, if they all had super powerful abilities like nymphs, things like the lobotomizer and procrastination would become too powerful if everyone had a few heroes. I also think each deck should have 3-4 heroes so there is not a huge increase in luck based on when you draw your hero.

Reminds me of something I had a suggested on  CCGs, except it got a lot of flak, but I believe it could be easily implemented here.

How one could do it:

When all quests are finished, the player can buy a Major Hero slot for 3,000  :electrum or a Minor Hero slot for 1500  :electrum  . Slots can be turned on and off and be placed on different areas of the board. To be fair, regular creatures cannot use those spots.

You can only have 1 Hero in play at a time, and 3 Minor Heroes in play.  With that in mind, they will have to be strong but not OP.

WHAT 9000?
Upgrading in itself provides you with strong cards. I was simply applying the same mechanic.  Hero slots would be like something you'd fight for similar to upgrades.

Sounds like a lot of possibilities here...

I'm working on a concept.  There's a lot of ways to do this, a lot of variables, so let the imaginations run wild.  i'll edit this post when I got a pic or two ready.

OK here's one take at it;



Notice crown icon for Hero.  He would have his own slot next to shield and weapon.  Please try to focus on the broad concept of Heroes themselves, not the specific OP'd or UP'd nature of this cards ability.

Protection is the Hero's state when in the slot.  Deployed is the Hero's state when treated like a creature.

Deploy, all heroes would have deploy and withdraw.  They make the card go out into attack mode (losing its passive but gaining attack) and come back if needed.



This is Deployed Osin.  He has lost his passive skill but gained attack.  He is out of the hero slot.  He is now treated like a normal creature.  Another Hero can take his spot on the Hero Slot, and as long as another Hero is on the slot, he can not Withdraw back to the slot.

Would all Heroes have to have deploy/withdraw, because, if so, it prevents them from having other active abilities.
