Card Creator subforum

Idea: how about we have a subforum where each person can have their own thread, and the first post would contain just the images for each of their cards, linked to the respective threads?

This would make it possible to view other card ideas a member has created, and also a place for members to showcase their idea collection.

Cons: too much work for the end product, think of how many different people are submitting card ideas! That's a ridiculous amount of subforums.
On the other hand: If you wish, you could simply post your 'card ideas portfolio' somewhere like the general discussion.

I agree.   People can get very creative, and new cards ideas probably come in every day!  I think there should a be Portfolio subthread in the card ideas forum instead.

You misunderstood.  I didn't mean one subforum for every card creator, I meant a subforum with one thread for each card creator.  Thus I would have my own thread, Zblader would have his, OldTrees would have his own thread, etc.  The first post in each thread would be that creator's collection of ideas.

In other words, a separate section of the "general discussion" for such portfolios, but here in the card ideas section.

Because the general discussion would get FLOODED.  New section means they're all in one place, easy to access and not interfering with actual discussions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the original purpose of the General Discussion board? IIRC, it serves as an overflow board as well as a place to post things that don't really fit anywhere else.

But "portfolios" are a define-able category, so they fit somewhere.  Separating them would also allow ease of search.

ah, I see your point. I'm still on the fence about this idea, however. I don't like it, but now that I see your point, I do see a cogent purpose.

It wouldn't take the place of the current card ideas forum.  Instead, it's additional - and a great way for people to see what other ideas a card creator may have had, and a great place for card creators to showcase their stuff.

One benefit of having a place like this to showcase - you can include cards that have been retired from the voting process, if you like.

Thumbs up all the way.  The only reasons against this seem forced.  There's no real reason why not, it takes a matter of minutes or less to add a sub-forum.
