I'd say it's severely UP.
Otyugh has more hp, lower cost, lower ability cost, more favorably type of ability cost, faster and more reliable devour.

In every way Otyugh is better, maybe reduce playing cost to 4(unupped), 3(upped), increase devour % to 100% (so it's just devour), decrease ability cost to 1?

I'm fine with it. I don't think life should be able to devour as efficiently as gravity. Why darkness though?

The cost of a creature as determined by PhantomFox's research is equal to the Attack + HP Value + Skill Value + Other Modifiers + Elemental Bonus

HP Value
0 [-1]
1-5 [ 0]
6-7 [+1]
8-9 [+2]
10+ [+3]

The skills are valued at
+1: Gravity Pull, Infection, Vampire, Stone Form, Lobotomize, Lycanthropy, Evolve, and Phoenix’s rebirth
+2: Devour, Paradox, Mutate, Poison, Dive, Heal, Immortality and the status effect, Devourer’s quanta drain passive effect, and Freeze
+3: Hatch adds three quanta to the cost, and growth abilities are also worth three
+4: Spawning
"Lastly, an ability that generates quanta adds one quanta of cost for each quanta generated.  Firefly has one extra quanta of cost, but Rustler adds two."

Other Modifiers
If the skill requires another type of quanta from the creature [-1]
If the skill requires sacrifice of the creature [-1]

Elemental Bonus (all these bonuses are free)
Fire creatures gain +1Atk
Life, Light, Air creatures gain -1Cost
Gravity creatures gain +1HP

as card idea standards go make unupped a little UP and make the upped on target. in this case 5 :life|4 :life , am i correct

If you added that then the majority of the Devour attempts would be at 100% for an rough average of .8|.9 or so

I lowered the cost of the unupped by 1, I reduced ability cost by 1 i lowered the starting % from 50 to 25 for unupped and 65 to 35 for the upped. added the +5% per kill. it now will take 15 kills to get to 100% for the unupped and 13 kills for the upped. is all that balanced enough?
