SnoWeb said it pretty well.
First game he didn't get some of his best cards until it was too late, and by then my shields were up and my golems many.
Second game he Discorded me, though I was still able to get a shield up and stop the scrambling. Still, when my golem rush was getting started he played two cards I hadn't seen from the previous round, pandemonium and purple nymph. They sufficiently wrecked my rush, though I was able to keep chaining shields. I wasn't keeping track during the last game, but I think I had another shield left in my deck when he killed me, which would have let me deck him out.
Third game was a lot like the second, except he got his nymph out even earlier this time. This time I kept track of shields, and I know that I had another in my deck when I ran out. He won with four hit points, which, had I done things slightly different at a couple points would have been gone.
All in all, they were a good set of very nerve wracking games
