Yet Another Chimera Based Deck. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=14152.msg178735#msg178735

This is my attempt at making a deck that is centered around Chimera. It's been done in various forms before.

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
744 744 744 744 744 746 746 746 746 746 74g 74g 74g 809 809 809 809 80i 80i 80i 80i 81q 81q 81q 81q 81q 81q 81q 81q 81q 8pl

Have an Armaggio on the field, a Fractal, Ball Lightning, and Chimera in your hand - fractal Ball Lightnings - play Chimera. You can expect stats of around 27|30.

Play an Armaggio after the Chimera comes out, and you can shift Gravity Pull over to it to keep the Chimera alive longer, though 30 HP makes the Chimera pretty sturdy.

Any tips on how to improve this deck without shifting its focus off Chimera would be greatly appreciated!

Very nice deck, problems are that it takes a pretty long time to set up, usually my health is on 50 by the time i get out the chimera

And also Reverse Times ARGHHHGHGRGHRGH  >:(

In that case, since the deck has an aether element, add quintessence so you can Quint your Chimera

I had this idea as well:

As soon as I came back and heard about Chimera, I tried it out. Overall, it is an okay deck, but it is simply countered way too easily by quite a few elements unless you splash Aether for Quintessence.

That would just be a waste, remember, the Chimera recieves momentum and Gravity force, which means it could die fast, making you waste the aether quantum.

tl;dr: Deck based around bad card is bad deck. I will try out Quint later.

Yes, this deck is rather slow. The deck I posted above was the variant that got the Chimera out as soon as possible, but taking Phase Shields and shifting the deck focus from speed (which the current version fails horribly at) to stall-bomb is probably a good idea.

As of late I have tried replacing the Armaggios with other cards, with variable success:
+5 Graviton Guards
This lets you get some damage early, but what I'm seeing is that the deck would be faster if the Chimeras were dropped as well - good if you want to win faster (and shamelessly imitate Kartis' Phoenixplosion (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,13526.0.html)) - bad if you want to keep the deck focused on Chimera, which I do.
+3 Firemasters, 2 Otyughs
Firemasters are to be Fractaled, Otyughs are usually not. The Firemasters are really cheap HP, and the Otyughs can help clean up the field a little before Chimera waltzes in so it doesn't die as quickly. May be a better version overall.
-Completely different versions involving Earth Mark + BB OR Momentum; Gravity Force
Fragile Chimeras galore, and crap draws as well. This might have potential, but I can't balance the cards to make either version work well enough.

Quintessence - a wonderful idea that I managed to forget. I'd say take it if you're going to try to stall with Phase Shields, but ditch it or take a single one if you're going for speed (which, if I haven't made it clear enough, will not be fast at all :( ). Stalling means the Chimera will come out late game, and the opponent usually has all sorts of cruel and unusual CC to pile on your Chimera. Speed means Quint interfere with draws if you take too many, and opponents shouldn't have that much hard CC early game. Icky things like Rewind, Congeal, BB - just hope they are wasted on Armaggio before Chimera comes out.

@Celidion Ah, another deck that mine is similar to. There are probably many more that I missed.

I always toss a few gravity force in my chimera decks and keep one BL in my hand to play after, still get 5 damage out of it and not lose the chimera.

I've also tried a PU flying titan chimera deck, and Bas blood them before I drop the chim, end up with 200+hp.And with aether you can just toss in phase shields since you know the deck is slow anyways.

Pretty sure I did the  same thing at some point when the card came out. Dunno if I posted it though. Anyway... it's not that great. Might as well use the sparks + grav pull, it's better, but it's still not very good.
