random pvp: enemy often timing out

I've played about 500 games and I'm enjoying this game immensly. People in random pvp often take a long time to make their move, and often times lag out, I always thought that the servers simply can't take the workload. I've often been urged to play faster, even when i didn't take long to play, and I always replied that it wasn't me, but the server. But now I've begun to doubt that, there's simply been too many people complaining about me.
So, I'm living in germany, might that cause the latency problems? are there any ways to fix what I'm experiencing? It would be awesome to play the game in actual real time, instead of having to wait 30 seconds for the players to sync up.

I don't do PvP much and I'm not sure if your location could have much effect either. On the other hand, I would recommend these two things (if you don't know about it yet). Hope it helps.

You can check your connection with your game server by using this URL:

http://www.elementsthegame.com/connections.html. The lower the ping, the better. However, I'm not sure what's the normal ping either (my guess would be anywhere below 1,000ms). Maybe others can comment more on this.[/li] When playing PvP, avoid switching tabs or losing focus from the game. This is a known problem that can cause lag and desync.[/li][/list]
