Title: Adrenaline+Forest Scorpion
Post by: ko7a01 on July 14, 2017, 06:46:21 pm
Hi, i've been working on a Darkness+Life poisonous deck and i've noticed that whenever I use Adrenaline on Forest Scorpion, the creature shows 4 attacks made but not all of those apply a poison counter to the defending player.

Is this a kind of issue, a bug or maybe the game is not showing the right amount of attacks made?

Regards,

Cota

It's a game feature that balances the use of adrenaline with negative effects, such as Devourer or Venom. Creatures that attack 4 times per turn only use their skill twice cuz otherwise it's OP

Im not sure whether this is actually mentioned on any of the cards, but most on-attack procs (like the scorpions or devourer) can only happen twice a turn. It gets weirder with acceleration.

This is one of those problems that comes when you don't specify effects exactly on the card or in-game somehow. It's intended, but it's not stated why anywhere in the game.

Eh. You can only have so much space on the cards. *Shrug*

Technically, zanz balanced it so that on-attack effects only apply on the first and last attack. This was in part due to the fact that 0-attack creatures actually get 5 attacks with Adren.

Forest scorpions are still good targets for Mitosis and Fractal, and adrenaline is a very interesting card anyways. If you want to make 4 poison counters a turn, you can try to Death Stalkers and something that increases their damage (Nightfall, Momentum, etc).

Also, for some reason, druidic staff does heal more than twice.

Wow! Thanks all for the comments. Now i got it :)

I was thinking about that, maybe the description could be something like "adds 1 poison during attack stance" instead of succesfull attack, because if you hit the oponent the attach is successfull and damage is done.

Also, attack 0 creatures don't add poison counters on players and it seems to me pretty expensive to pay 2 :death 4 :life for a 0/1 creature that may proc 2poison twice in a turn if you give +1attack to it. Or not?

It is indeed a bit expensive if you leave it like that. But the damage ramps up quickly if you pull out the cards. specially with Nightfall, where 1 card makes ALL your stalkers attack. And you can play the  :darkness shield to balance your defense as well. Not many people like trios though, as they are hard to balance quanta-wise. So a stalker deck maybe would be better with no Adrenaline and better add more in-element cards to make a good Duo deck.

For forest scorpions as main cards, I would prefere Fractal. For an adrenaline-based deck... if you have 6 Druidic Staves and Flying Weapons, that's my favourite, next to a rainbow that contains Voodoo Dolls and Acceleration but only for fun in PvP1.

For what it's worth, trios have been slowly growing in favor as time has passed, at least in certain metagames - since they tend to trade off consistency for combo flexibility and power, exploring them is one of the few ways to make what would be an otherwise stagnant metagame maintain a small amount of movement.
