The game has been static for roughly six months, and IMO could use a shot in the arm should zanz return to action.  A hoax earlier today, where someone shopped up a fake 'in development' screenshot, got me thinking: what cards that were already in existence would be the best fit for new implementations into the game?

My proposal-
1) Each IF member submits 3-5 cards from each element, that have already been made (crucible rank, archive status or submission being irrelevant).
*Cards may nominated by the creator, considering some of us could likely think of cards we have made for each element more readily than those by others, but make an effort to nominate a good chunk of others' cards as well.
**IMO it would be best to aim for cards that are more along the lines of seraph than fractal- and not completely change the face of the game as we know it.
***Also strive to select cards that would not be a potential coding nightmare for zanz, such as 'adjacent creatures' (despite my personal love of the concept) or pseudo quanta, which may be tedious coding processes.
****Maybe give an edge to newer cards which he has presumably not yet looked at and passed on implementing previously.
*****And probably avoid weapons since I am going to infer that he is leaving it at 1 weapon per element for a reason.

2) From the concatenated list, for each element, use IF voting to reduce it to 5 cards of each element.

3) From the resulting top five of each element, either IF voting, or public voting, to narrow it down to a list of 2 for each element.

This list would hopefully do some of the work for zanz to sort through if and when he should come back.  Any suggestions/feedback on the selection criteria or the vetting process?  Or does it sound like a waste of time/effort?

(edit- when making up my own list, i realized 5 is a *lot*. moved it down to 3 per person minimum, 5 cards maximum, per element)

work in progress, hopefully it will set an example even in it's incomplete state.  some card images are being a bit ornery (the death ones specifically), so i suppose card images are optional heh

:aether

Vulpecula: adds a small, but thematic, heal for aether
Aetheric Guard: it just makes sense to have a reflect shield in aether
Aetheric Blast: a use of the card hand counting mechanic applied to a damaging spell

Griffon: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,39334.msg489146.html#msg489146 adds a protective deterrent mechanic for air's mostly low hp creatures

Imp Spirit: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,25230.0.html a good implementation of using other creatures abilities

If we want to add new cards into the game, I vote for cards that "complete" the incomplete elements and allow every element to be fuller. Table here

To start, is this thread still alive and kicking? If not, I apologize for necroing.

If the thread is still alive, then I will work on submitting a list.

I find the prospect of making a booster pack very intriguing and would love to help out if possible.
If we want to add new cards into the game, I vote for cards that "complete" the incomplete elements and allow every element to be fuller. Table here
One thing to keep in mind here, is that not every element should get a particularly capacity just to fill that capacity.

I.e. not every element should have a "hard" permanent or creature control. Some elements get around the need by being able to outrace outheal, etc.

So while filling out each element is a good way to get started, it is important to respect each elements themes and try to preserve the unique roles each element has been given.
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
