fast HB farming deck https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=50525.msg1089284#msg1089284
« on: July 27, 2013, 06:47:45 pm »
hi guys, i just wanted to share my deck that so far is rather effective to farm HB's. i hope the thread title is descriptive enough for people to find it
(btw excellent to farm elders as well, not many EM chances but really really fast, should be 6 turns on average)

i havent taken exact statistics, because to be honest i simply didnt bother, but the win-% is definitely above 50%.
EM is very rare so if you are just farming for electrum this is probably not for you.
the speed is pretty decent, based on my last dozen games or so its around 8 turns, so a tad bit slower than Elders.

so here is the deck:
as of version 1.32

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vh 4vj 4vj 4vj 52q 590 590 5c1 5f9 5f9 5f9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 5l9 6u3 77g 77g 77g 7dp 7dp 7dp 7dq 7dq 7dq 7ds 7ds 7ds 8pm

im not sure who to give credits for the initial deck, i forgot where i took it from (sorry to whoever :<)

its a relatively simple modificaiton of grabbix tht isnt completed yet. ideally id like one more supernova and all the grabboids upped, but im currently farming for an arena deck and this version is doing good enough as it is.

not entirely sure about the lava destroyer - minor phoenix ratio. im considering testing it ith both 4:2 and 2:4 at some point.

other possible modifications include:
- removing the forest spirit for naother destroyer or upped grabboid or just upping the spirit)
- for risk takers one less photon for another big puncher might be a consideration
- and then of course upping everything, although i would hold of upping the novas probably

if you have any comments or recommendations feel free to reply :)

hope this helps somebody who is looking or a decent Elder/HB farmer

ps: should i include a writeup of how to play it or is it self explanatory enough?

I've tried this and lost 4 of 5 to HB.

You might want to replace those Photons with Gnome Gemfinders in the future. Since this is a pillarless rush deck, the Graboids will compete with the Destroyers on the limited  :earth quanta.

Replace Forest Spirit with Fog Shield or a Heal. Lack of defense is okay at AI3 but HB's, with their 150 HP, will take some time to kill even with a rush deck and they can also rush you back.

I'm fairly new to the game and just started rushing HB for upgraded cards (for gold). I have had reasonable success with a similar, but simpler deck without any upgrades. At least I'm making the money I was hoping for, although it can be frustrating to lose maybe around 50 % of the time (possibly more). I had a similar success rate with an even simpler rush deck based on Steam Machines. This second deck, however, has far less upgrading potential.

I also found out that the Gavel (the upgraded Hammer) works very well with these decks. It has a fantastic cost of any 2 quanta, which you will always have because of the Novas (include all 6), and with the  :earth mark it deals out 7 damage per turn. Not bad for a freebie!

What is your experience with the Lycanthrope and Forest Spirit? They both seem out of place, at least if you draw them early on. I realize they can occasionally be good with this deck, but they may just as often stand in the way for the critical quanta generating rush cards (Nova, Photon-Immolation, Towers).

Great deck, but in my opinion it generates excessive  :fire quanta so I recommend that you leave 1 or 2 of the minor phoenix unupped the deck can dish out more damage.

Without being able to test it right now, aren´t the 5 Grabroids and the Lava Golem fighting against each other over some  :earth quanta...? I would think about using two less of them, and using a Fog Shield and a upped Steal (or a deflegration) instead.
What's the speed of dark?

Yeah photons for gemfinders and forest spirit for fog shield. Also id recomend taking out 1 immo or 1 photon or 1immo and1photon for 1 bravery or 2 braveries. This will speed up your deck by 1 or 2 maybe even 3 turns. And youll be able to win the half bloods cause you have defense with fog. Since youll be drawing a lot more you will get fog a good amount of the time even with 1 copy. Also your earth quantum will be an easy fix just because of using different fodder for cremation. And if you get that fully upped, you wont need 6 cremations, 2 or 3 will get it going quite effectivly any more you draw will just be nearly useless. And youll be drawing more with braveries so 5 cremations will be enough even for draw chance/starting hand chance.
A world war? Am I invited?
Thanks to skotadi for saying this in chat. Made me laugh pretty hard, and fits with me not getting drafted. :silly:
