In-game Troubleshooting / Re: CPU at it's peak.

Alright. It's a shame I didn't try elements before I changed 32-bit flash to 64. I am running a Centrino, too, and was surprised when I found this one supported 64-bit :).

Yeah, I think the Linux 64-bit flash is also still beta. Youtube videos and everything else work supersmooth, however. Salsaheaven, did you download the 64-bit flash from Adobe's site/launchpad's repo? The one from official Ubuntu repos is 32-bit.

In-game Troubleshooting / CPU at it's peak.

Greetings fellow players,

For some reason, whenever I play Elements, my CPU usage goes to 100% even at the lowest settings. I am using Ubuntu 10.04 with 64-bit flash. I am sure this isn't the processor bottlenecking, because when I had Windows 32-bit it worked fine with high settings. Is this a platform or 64-bit problem? I go between Windows and Ubuntu and usually dual-boot, but I do not have Windows at the moment (thank god). I wouldn't want to keep Windows around just for playing Elements every now and then.

And please, no "Linux is ***, use Windows!" comments :D

Thanks, appreciate it.

So much faster to play! This is pure awesomeness!

There already is an upgraded card quest.
Wait, what is this upgraded card quest you are speaking of? Do you mean the quest to be able upgrade cards? I don't see that as a quest at all, and have never understood why upgrading cards is under "quests". Also, even though the quest wouldn't necessarily be related to upgraded cards I don't understand why it would make sense to just give 1500 electrums. If the idea is to get an awesome upgraded card only the reward has to do with the upgraded card.

I'm kind of lost whether you agreed with me agreeing with you or not? :)

This leads me to another question; would the random cards be taken from the user's deck, or from the entire card pool?  I'm assuming it would be from the user's deck, because taking 12 random cards from the entire card pool would be insanely unfair.  If it's from the user's deck, again, it just seems strange.  Why not let the user choose which card he wants to upgrade, by just handing him the 1500 electrum and giving him the full range of options?  I think that would be the easier (and more viable) solution.
I agree. I definitely wouldn't want to get some random upgraded card and then just sell it, because I have no use for it. It defeats the whole point. On the other hand, giving money kind of takes away the idea of an "upgraded card" quest. Perhaps giving a free upgrade for an existing card could work? You could save the upgrade for later, too.

Religion / Re: Christian music vs. Mainstream media
« on: April 24, 2010, 07:55:57 am »
So I guess my statement of Popular = Cool was false. I should have said "Something being cool makes it popular".
Bu is has to be "cool" for the general population to become popular. On the other hand, personally I find everything too popular uncool, as SG stated. Some people want to stand out.

I'm not into christian music, but would take it over any mainstream music any day. Mainstream music is probably "cool", but that's the only good thing about it.

Also, it depends how you define christian rock bands, but some of the "normal" rock bands are actually christian rock bands without us noticing it. Can't think of any now, though :).

EDIT: Whoops, noticed there were more pages and the topic has changed a bit. Sorry about that.

Duo-Decks / Re: Light/Darkness duo deck

I love the idea! Although it does seem like it would be low on pillars.. Guess I can't say anything without testing it *opens up trainer*.

So essentially, would you get a free upgrade, a whole new upgraded card or the money for it? Choosing one new upgraded card from all of the options could be confusing. I support the idea but the implementation, I think, is part of the discussion.

Paulusssss:

The key to this deck really is to know when to play your sundials. Check out jallenw's excellent post on that on the previous page, but essentially you want to save them up for later/when you would die the next turn. Bear in mind, though, that if AI has a weapon you want to leave some HP room. Preferably you also would have a bonewall and an otyugh up for best effect.

Also, youre English is fine.

Osiris / Re: New False God: Osiris

Not getting why this god is so easy for others, I've only managed to beat him once through decking him out. Using partly upgraded version of scaredgirls rainbow. There's just too many pharaoh's and scarabs to eat for the otyugh even if I get him out early. RoF doesn't work so the only thing I could do was stall by letting him eat my fireflies and skeletons to grow up my bonewall. Got dimshield in the end and on the last turn it weared off I would have died unless he hadn't decked out. No cards...
