False Gods / !unupgraded?
« on: December 15, 2009, 10:09:36 pm »

Until you've upgraded your cards it's difficult to beat Miracle without making the AI deck out.  Not sure how many Improved Miracles are in that deck but the most I've seen is 4.  You might throw in a Lava Golem/Destroyer to build damage along with your Otyughs - that Jade Shield gets annoying when it cuts your Skelly/Firefly damage to almost nothing.

Very cool.  This is reminiscent of my own Rainbow anti-god deck but much much more efficient.  Thanks for taking the time to experiment and share!

Seems like most of the wins against Rainbow and Miracle are via deck-out :)

Mark of Entropy if anyone's wondering.

The only FFQs I see in rainbow decks are the upgraded ones.  The typical FFQ+Rustler strategy doesn't work once you upgrade it...

I've seen that before too...not exactly sure what it is.  Possibly a new card?

Also doesn't work against Aether but it kills FFQ.

General Discussion / Where is the best place to get an Owl's Eye/Lobo?
« on: December 15, 2009, 10:09:30 pm »

Through the process of playing Level 3, T50, and PvP, I've been able to find a Discord, Arsenic, Druidic Staff, Fahrenheit, Arctic Squid, 2 Titans, and 3 Miracles, but I have yet to get myself a Lobo so I can finally start tackling the False Gods or another Owl's Eye to improve my FFQ deck.  Where's the best place to look for these?  I don't see many Aether decks in level 3...

Tend to agree with you here. My Rainbow deck is the strongest of my three (Rainbow, FFQ, Aether)...

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Trade Cards
« on: December 15, 2009, 10:09:30 pm »

I think the lack of trading is what makes this game good, and trading in any manner would be exploited to the end of the game.
How so?  The game is based of the typical TCGs anyway, so why not involve the trade factor?

I can't think of a way to abuse the system as long as the starting cards and starting rare are made untradable.

Hadn't thought about that.  Perhaps we should only allow trades within a certain type?  I.E. Pillars can only be traded for pillars, basic cards for other basic cards, rares/upgraded cards for other rares/upgraded.  Could still be abused somewhat by trading, say, a Dragonfly for a Phase Dragon, but helps a little.

Optimally, we could track the money received by selling starter cards/rares and not allow cards purchased with THAT money to be traded, but that seems a little excessive and probably a headache to implement, not to mention explain to people.

Deck Help / Fix My FFQ Deck!
« on: December 15, 2009, 10:09:30 pm »

Finally found the time to upgrade some cards so here's what I've got for a deck.  I found that using Supernovas made it easier for me to shake off quantum denial and my rustlers getting killed (one extra life quantum to summon another, and in a pinch, one Supernova gets you one new Firefly).  I left a few regular Novas in however, because I found that if you use 6 upgraded ones, you run too great a risk of having to discard a card from your starting hand (usually a FFQ).

32 cards:

Mark of Entropy
Nova x2
Supernova x4
Wind Tower x8 (more Wind Pillars if not all upgraded)
Empathic Bond x3
Rustler x4
Firefly Queen x6
Deflagration x2
Steal x1
Owl's Eye x2

It's now possible, though not probable, to get a FFQ and Rustler on the board on your first turn.  More likely you will be set by the 4th turn.

This deck destroys Mono-Aether (save Deflag and Steal until you've built up enough creatures) and does well against Gravity decks relying on Otyughs, assuming you draw your OEs relatively early.  Production against Darkness and Fire depend on luck to draw the right cards after your creatures get killed by Rain of Fire, Drain Life, or Fire Bolt.

I agree with the above...have to keep in mind that we can't make it too easy to beat the AI or the game becomes pointless.

This does reward players with well-built deck over people who get lucky, however...maybe we can have the option to reshuffle two random cards and draw one back?  Possibly reshuffle 3 and draw 2?
