General Discussion / Re: Why is Time so special?

you misunderstand. I was talking about a theme in general.

for example, if there was a card named, "avenging angel" it would only be fitting for light, it being in the theme of positive christian "mythology"

like how there is anubis, pharaoh, scarabs for time

I think deepfreeze could work if both players skipped their next turns and it cost nothing.

muslims and christians...
yeah maybe. but I don't think other religions and their musics are that segregated.
buddhism and judaism don't have that much propaganda or an expansionist theme attached to them.

In the end I think it's unfair and outright not nice to prevent christian music (or any other) from getting exposure, just because it is what it is.
If they can't generate enough audience by their own merits, it's cool.

I mean, like most other social values under the pretense of being progressive, it's hypocritical. if tool can say "F.. your God, your Lord, your Christ" why shouldn't others say the opposite? That's how freedom of speech should work. Living in Turkey, I know firsthand how "progressive secularism" can invoke chaos and animosity. It has a tendency to be audacious, arrogant and elitist.

Personally, listening to Bach's "Erbarme Dich" (and the complete matthaus passion in fact) moves me a lot. Moves me enough to learn the meaning of the music.

I also love the Qawwali music, first being Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

yep.

good idea.
instead of all those element icons, I think we should give the grandmaster a rainbow flag

;D

I'd say

:darkness : christian (anti) eastern european
:death : hmmm
:life : buddhism & hindu
:earth : south america, indian
:water : norse
:light : christian
:fire : persian. it already has the phoenix
:air : japanese?

I guess light has a clear theme to it as well. at least time is not unique.

I was being sarcastic.
Naturally cards need to have a purpose and to be useful.

It's a good card.

this would be very bad if it attacked until it killed the opponent. it needs to be nerfed.

I don't think it's a problem that stone tablets protect each other. One of them has to go away first anyway.
It's possible I didn't get what you mean though  :-X

Now I realize though, with the new wording, tablet protects pillars from quicksand as well.. and that's not good.
also, there is no difference between the copper and stone versions... not that I deem it very important.

maybe if it read "if at any time stone tablet can be targeted by the opponent, it must be targeted" it would solve problems.
it would be useless PA'd and it wouldn't prevent from trident and quicksand.

I don't really get why people are so much into elemental mastery.
I get that it may be a nice personal challenge to overcome, but isn't the main moneymaker in the game earning and selling upped cards?

I don't think it should die.
that's only possible in rainbow decks, and this one has enough deterrents for that deck.

I think duo decks would still be possible with this one, but its strength is supposed to be mono.

No it's not about any OP cards time may or may not have.
It's just that.. time is the only element that is so specially depicted. It has a complete and coherent theme to it, being ancient egypt.

I think embedding some cultural/mythological theme to all elements would be really nice.
Eastern european darkness, japanese air etc..
