Trial of Darkness / Re: Phase 3 - Battles

I DIDN'T SAY THAT I WOULDN'T USE FRACTAL
I actually agree that for the Darkness trial, we should ban Fractal...
I don't want to use, and play against, Fractal Devourer and Vampire
Hmm, so what did you say?

Hunting is coming up.
Joe says "I don't want to use a Rifle and hunt and kill rabbits.",
His competition accepts as such and only uses traps.
Next week Hunting opens, Joe goes out and Shoots 12 dozen rabbits, scoring the best hunting season ever.
Was that Honorable of Joe?

Several other members believed that BS had said he wasn't going to use fractal but expect he would reneg on his statement. I mistakenly took faith in Bloodshadow.
I lost because I didn't play for the cheese win, I played for an honourable win. Next time, I'll be an all for win and won't hold back because I can't trust Bloodshadow. I can't trust Bloodshadow with anything he says. He makes up his own terms rather than following the dictionary, he says one thing and does something else. I've stuck up for him behind the scenes on several occasions because under it all I thought he was trying to be a good guy. I am quite sick of this Bull. He said it, its highlighted above. I took that he truely ment it, and wasn't just talking crap. Turn out he was just talking crap and played for the win in the final game of the match. I lost because I have honour. Sucks to be me.

Everyone else has taken this beyond the game report.
When he wrote those things did you tell him you agreed with what he said or did you just figure you would use that as an excuse to why he just might be the better master than you. And you call him the child...

So much hate.  There needs to be some peace and love in here.   ;)

Anyway, great to see the most anticipated duel finally finish.  Kael, those comments about Blood being a liar is a little... unneeded, don't you think?
lie1    /laɪ/  Show Spelled [lahy]  Show IPA noun, verb, lied, ly·ing.
–noun
1. a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.

li·ar   /ˈlaɪər/  Show Spelled[lahy-er]  Show IPA
–noun
a person who tells lies.

I believe he made false statement. So no, I find no issue in calling him Liar.

So your saying Bloodshadow planned all this out?

Is that not evil and why?

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Walking the Void | Walking the Void

So if I understand correctly, the moment you would draw a card, if you have 0 cards left in deck, it heals you for the amount of cards left in opponents deck.

If you end your turn with exactly 0 cards in hand it heals you for the number of cards in opponents hand.

Is that right? Or does it work even if it's not exactly 0 cards? (the ability text would suggest otherwise, but then writing about the difference with 0 sounds strange).

What happens when you have this in play, 0 cards left in deck, and you use an Hourglass? If it heals you once again it would be seriously OP.

@mogv Don't you know any other uses of Eternity except preventing a deck out?
Are you telling me you would still use an eternity in your rainbows instead of this card?

I find it overpowered, the fact that it is the exact same thing as eternity, except it doesnt take up a weapon slot leaving room for a stronger weapon and you dont have to reverse a creature on the field. The fact that it heals you makes it even more overpowered. The fact that its cheaper than eternity makes it even MORE overpowered. The fact that there is no upkeep for a darnkess mark is ... *faints*

Change card text to Bertholite for the upgraded version. Like the idea though.

So,
the other day I was thinking about a game I had in PVP2.

Me and my opponent had an almost identical deck (permanent and creature control, hourglasses, destroyers and fractals) the only difference he opened his hand with 4 quantum towers while I had only one in my starting hand.

I drew other towers in the next draws but the quantum advantage he got in the beginning was too much too handle...

My thought was that if you have the luck to have a bunch of tower in your first hand or top part of your deck, the advantage you get is enormous.

It's clear,if you get the quanta producing stuff in the beginning, then you get the stuff to play, then you play it because you have the quanta in your pool.

It doesn't work the other way around, even if you have the same cards/pillar ratio and if you get one pillar in your starting hand, then 3 pillars draws your'e pretty much screwed anyway...

If only one tower/pillar could be played per turn, the luck factor on the first hand could be handled better

i am sure this suggestion was already made, because the facts here are pretty obvious, what do you think?

note: my suggestion is completely peaceful, i don't want to fight against "elements the game fundamentalists" :) just explain me your thoughts and pro/cons about this idea...

i really like the game as it is anyway :)
So what your saying is you shouldve tied cause you had the same deck?  :o

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Tortoise | Red Tortoise
« on: August 05, 2010, 12:12:14 am »
I like the red tortoise but the unupgraded form is much weaker. Higher cost, less defence, chances of getting a relic, AND it's not an upgraded permanent. I would give them the same stats for everything except for the red tortoise giving upgraded permanents.

General Discussion / Re: Fractal

Isnt this supposed to be under the fractal card discussion or suggestion and feedback?
The original was trying to get a petition going to to have fractal removed or heavily nerfed since he thinks it is overpowered.   The rest of the thread has been everyones opinon on the topic.

My main complain about fractal is the fact that it shuts down many new card ideas, not that it's overpowered. (Although some people do indeed think that)

The only problem I find is the fire pillar. You used the art from the second one and added a pillar which is fine but I personally dont like the fact that the bottom left part of the image is sticking outside the pillar. I would prefer for fire to just be coming out instead.
Props to all the new art though.

I don't think Fractal hurts the game at all. If Fractal is overpowered, then nearly every good deck would include Fractal or would include a way to deal with Fractal (mass creature control). Fractal decks aren't very fast, with one exception (Fractal Chargers), so there are many ways to deal with the card itself.

About new creature card ideas, I do think that it makes card balance a bit more complex. However, I don't see this as a bad thing. If a creature is inexpensive to the point where it is abusable with Fractal, it is also inexpensive enough to be used in a speed rainbow deck, which almost all consider to be the premier PvP deck.
Right now I can only think of one example off the top of my head, which is the new card in development "Voodoo Doll". The idea of it with fractal makes it overpowered and I can't really think of a speed rainbow deck having one.

There are many "status quo" people on the forum that always like stuff just as they are, so this thread will probably be shut down. I'm gonna go ahead and say that I think Fractal has somewhat negative impact on the whole "metagame" (  :P ). Sure, game works now, game worked before Fractal. And I doubt it will ever be removed from the game. I just dont like it, and especially dont like the fact that every balancing issue is directly tied to this card.
Thats exactly what I meant. Nowadays every card has to be made sure that it can't be abused with fractal. Fractal opens up alot of synergies with itself, but takes away alot of other small synergies that can be made with the introduction of new cards.
