FG Proposals / Re: Theme: Adaptation - Zeus
« on: January 31, 2011, 12:57:44 am »
The greek name for Zeus is "Jupiter". I think that would be a better name seeing that we have Neptune as one of the FGs already, if this deck makes it. Best of luck!
Yeah... we also have Hermes, though, so our Roman parallel was never there. I just went with Zeus because he seems more iconic than Jupiter as a Greek god.

:air Air and :aether Aether have always been best of buddies.
Before my hiatus, I thought :air was kinda lame, no offense. But now, what with Wings and Sky Blitz and the epic-looking new Wind Pillar, i think :air is pretty cool. :) So I totally agree with this statement now.

This 88-card deck embodies the very image of Zeus. As the lord of all Greek Gods, he lives in the sky and favors thunderbolt attacks, exemplifying the elements of :air and :aether.
His wicked attacks are coupled with the fact that he is immortal. This is the central theme of this deck: a powerful, crushing attack out of the blue coupled with an evasion of damage.

Damage is primarily obtained by the Ball Lightning-Fractal-Sky Blitz combo. When these 3 key cards are held and may be used, it's time for murder.
Ball Lightning normally does 5 damage; when Sky Blitzed, it does 10 damage. After Fractaling this free card, you obtain many Ball Lightnings, each doing 10 damage each.
As little as two of these ferocious "lightning blitz" attacks can finish off the opponent. Other sources of damage include the Owl's Eyes or the Spiders.

Adaptation comes in when Zeus feels like going on the defensive.
He uses his Spiders to wrap up the opponent's Flying creatures (or his Owl's Eyes to kill them), then plays his Wings, making him impervious to damage.
In this way, Zeus can adapt well, striking when the opponent is weak and shielding himself when the situation calls for it.

FG Proposals / Theme: Adaptation - Zeus

ZEUS

They were a ragtag group.
They were of all shapes and sizes, all reds and greens and blues, dressed in all the colors of Iris. Some were brimming with absolute power; others were fragile as glass shards.
But they all shared something in common.

They all marched towards Olympus.

With angry eyes and flaring weapons, the Elementals began the war against the Gods. Some dove into the great rivers; Neptune would counter them there.
His inundations and denizens of the deep, however, were not strong enough to withstand the torrent of fearsome warriors pitted against him.

Hermes would spring into action, executing a diabolic preemptive strike. But even he, with all his infernal menace, could not possibly quell all the Elementals.

So it was time for him to make his appearance. High in Olympus, he watched the other Gods struggle. High in Olympus, he readied his Thunderbolts.

High in Olympus, the Immortal Zeus stood up.
A peal of thunder; an arc of piercing lightning. The Elementals cringed, shocked; then, Zeus watched them plow on.

"Let them come."

All cards doubled. Mark is tripled.

Continuing the "Greek / Roman Gods" theme in Hermes and Neptune, here is my new False God: Zeus.
Because when I think of Jupiter, I only think of the planet. :P

Comments, critiques and discussion are welcome. This is also my first deck using a "new" card (or 3?) :P

You should definitely try to upgrade your Hourglasses after your Supernovas. ;)

The "CCYB" deck is after my time, so I dunno about pillar adjustment. This looks pretty solid to me.

At least it's vaguely better than before. I mean, the very essence of the weapon makes it impossible for it to really be used competitively. Who would bring a dagger to a fight involving dragons, golems and miracles?

At least it has a little bit of a flavorful theme now. This card change doesn't do much but it makes the dagger a little more interesting ;)

Oh, wow. This is nasty.

I think it's well-balanced and rather good at stopping these rush decks that everyone seems to use nowadays.

And I like the name Putrefaction. Sounds really cool. Kinda the opposite of "Gangrene Shield" :P

Entropy / Re: Heres my Entropy deck..
« on: January 30, 2011, 03:41:31 pm »
Yeah, you do look a bit quanta-heavy with that deck, especially with those Dissipation Shields.

I'd take out a Discord and a Chaos Seed for 2 more pillars.
Personally, I don't like using Chaos Seeds so I would take out a discord and all 3 Chaos Seeds for 3 pillars and another Antimatter, but that's just me. :P

A solid mono-entropy deck otherwise. Good job!

Music / Re: What instrument do YOU play?
« on: January 30, 2011, 03:13:51 am »
I'm a piano and violin player. I can also snap pretty damn well.

Also, I can sing. Like, legit. I'm a tenor but my range is really small.

It doesn't seem like you need 6 Maxwell's Demons tbh. 3 is fine. I'd take out 2 for 2 Purple Dragons.

Otherwise, a solid deck.
