Level 4 - Reliquary / Re: Psionist | Psion

This is a clever idea. But I reckon it's just a little OP. I'd like to see this work. Maybe a little less HP or strength, or a little higher mana cost.

I don't think there's any way for this to be balanced. Too many potential exploits from having two shields. Some single shields are already borderline overpowered.

This seems overpowered to me too.

Phantoms need to be weaker.

And the ability to respond to the enemy's creature with a phantom can't be so automatic. Perhaps if it had some kind of aether cost.

I like challenging games too. This game was definitely just a little too confusing at first. But out of sheer stubbornness, I think I've passed the tough part of the curve and I'm starting to have a lot of fun.

Just got a shard of serendipity. Seems like a good thing for a rainbow deck with lots of quantum pillars.

Anyone recommend any good rainbow decks that lean towards aether? Something that uses the electrocutor/lobotomizer, and maybe some fractals or mind gates?

I'm a noob and stumbled onto this in the arena. :P I guess I should start building a rainbow deck. Are there any rainbow decks that lean towards aether? That's my current focus.

Don't be expecting to kill half bloods within your first days of playing the game!
I'm okay with not killing them. The problem is I saw no progress... but I cracked the L3/Elder, and grinded that until Half-Blood became possible. I'm doing a little better than 50/50 against them. Also slayed my first False God, mostly cuz I got lucky with my draw and he got unlucky with his. But I'll take it.

So what's one of the first aether cards I should upgrade?

I shouldn't have been so quick to judge. There's a lot of grinding, but it's proving to be fun as you unlock more cards.

I finally axxepted that beating the level 3 AI is pretty good. And worked my way up to 500 score.

Lobotomizer. Wow.

This is a fun card and makes aether a more complete strategy.

I also beat a level 4 guy, got a rare (crusader) card, whixh I sold off and upgraded my lobotomizer.

Having a lot of fun with aether. Let's keep going...

If anyone has any advice for what I should upgrade next, I'd be eternally grateful.

In spite of all that... the 30 card aether deck recommended in the tutorial beat the level 3 AI more consistently. I found this interesting. But also really frustrating.

I find the level 4 AI nearly impossible (at least with aether). If they manage to put up a good shield (e.g.: the one that poisons your creatures, the one that effectively turns quana into hitpoints, the one that filters all damage less than X, or all creatures with more than X hitpoints), I'm toast.
I'd say take away the sparks and photons and fractals. They're not that efficient for taking up that much space in your deck. 6 dimensional shields, some immortals, dragons, or parallel universes for offense and the rest filled with aether pillars is a pretty solid mono aether deck good for AI3.
Exactly.

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1190.0.html#post_aether

I found they were just getting in the way, taking up space and causing me to miss the cards I need.

It was really annoying to find out I'd tried every combination of aether only to find that it was close to the opening 30 cards that worked best.

And even then, I went from winning less than 20% against level 3, to winning less than 20% against level 4, with no chance of getting any upgrades.

My best guess: they rebalanced the game so you pretty much HAVE to buy cards to have fun.

Thanks for the help guys. Maybe I'll try to reorient my deck to another color.

For what it's worth I was able to purchase 6 copies of nearly all of the basic aether cards.

My aether strategy revolved around the shield, and getting phase dragons / immortals out. But I also kept fractals around to multiply shocks and photons (free card from the light deck), to deal massive damage in a short period of time. I also kept lighting bolts around to deal with annoying creatures.

I experimented with other cards like mind gate, but it started to take me away from the focus of the original deck. I needed quantum pillars to make use of the cards I copied, and it started to inject too much randomness. I also found that parallel universe could be useful, but my deck became more effective as it became more lean. (Less risk of having not enough quanta, or not enough cards to use the quanta on.)

I actually beat some pretty experienced guys with 500+ score. Sometimes.

Hey everyone. I'm enjoying the game after my first day. Getting mopped in the arena, lose 2 out of 3 battles. Tried an aether only deck and had trouble beating level 3.

I found this forum and the tutorial, but it barely lets me beat level 3. Haven't so much as seen an upgraded card.

This is really really tough. But somehow still fun.
