Game Suggestions and Feedback / Re: Remove Pulverizer Self-destruct
« on: December 31, 2010, 10:55:12 pm »
There are times when I have used this strategically.  One such time was when I was playing against a crusader rainbow deck and I didn't want my pulvy copied so I destroyed it, waited for him to endow his crusader with his own owl's eye, then played the pulvy in my hand.

I would ask that people refrain from saying "There is no strategic use" for something just because they haven't thought of how it could be useful.  Perhaps a "I can't think of how this could be beneficial" would be better.  Yes, I know, I'm arguing semantics and whatnot, but I would hate to see an action taken before all possible angles have been explored.
Ah yes, I forgot about Endow. Still, it seems a bit odd for a gavel-like weapon to be able to hit itself (realistically speaking, though we're not exactly sure how Pulverizer destroys things).

Considering there are possible tactical uses, perhaps a very slight delay could be added when activating destroy?

Game Suggestions and Feedback / Remove Pulverizer Self-destruct
« on: December 31, 2010, 10:28:25 pm »
Maybe this is just me :-[ , but my mouse has an annoying tendency to double-click Pulverizer, causing it to destroy itself. This is both annoying (I have lost a couple games from it) and illogical, as it is not physically possible for a weapon to destroy itself, just as Otyugh cannot devour itself. Also, there is no reason one would want to destroy his/her own Pulverizer, excluding suicide.

A simple fix would be much appreciated, thanks.

Upgrade Otyughs
+1 or 2 otys
drop titanium shield for gravity shield
(quints? but that would really slow down the deck)

Also, I wouldn't consider this deck for T50 simply because most of those decks are either rainbows (creature control), speed rainbows, or rushes. Even RoL/Hope could defeat this with an early lobo.
the otys, like i said if you read it carefully, were not upgraded because I didnt have the money
adding more cards would make it even slower

it actually works well against rainbows because of the nymphs and pulvy's effects, even try it out in trainer. and the rushes are the reason for the titaniums, all the creatures in those deck have hp less than 6, so it would be useless

like i keep saying, test it out yourself about 10 times then give your judgement instead of speculating
Results of 10 tests vs Top 50 in Trainer
Lost vs life rush (couldn't eat and no damage)
Win vs CCwhybother (2nd turn amber nymph)
Lost vs life rush
Lost vs timebow (early quinted oty ate everything)
Lost vs SNwhybother (oty ate everything, led to deckout)
Win vs CCwhybother
Lost vs fractal pests (couldn't eat and got locked)
Win vs RoL/Hope (early Pulvy vs early lobo+quanta denial)
Lost vs flying eagle eyes
Lost vs fractal pests

Total 30% win percentage (granted, this sample size sucks)
Total testing time ~30 minutes for 10 games (include 3 skipped farms)

My judgement on this deck: Good concepts, but it's too slow. Could possibly work in pvp1 if you added some heavy armors.

I'm most likely not commenting further on this deck, as you asked for suggestions then simply refuted all of mine. Testing this deck also takes up a lot of time.

The ones I see with the most potential to be OP:
Doubt-very close to an insta-kill card, if combined with lobo. If the creature has no ability you only need to block that one point of damage to neutralize it.
Disloyalty-Stealing creatures has been proposed before, but the cost is really cheap and three turns is a lot. It's a 1-2 card advantage, iirc (you play a card and get a creature, but the opponent just lost a creature).
Envy-Devourers are 6 quanta for 3 drain, and that requires 3 cards to boot. This can be played more easily with quantum towers, and it's only one card.

Lol I could actually see this happening in game sometime. Maybe not in such an overpowered form, but some shards are OP as well.

And for the burrowing one, I'm pretty sure he means the creature will be lobotomized and gain the skill Unburrow. Otherwise it would just be an"other" quint (pun?).

I think upgrading the Otys is a must in this kind of deck. It greatly increases the number of creature an unbuffed oty can eat, and also helps against some creature control.
IIRC, both Oty and Amber nymph are high priority targets for creature controls, and that's what really kills this deck. However, it's not very practical to splash in aether for quints (I've tried before, but maybe with these pendulums you can make it work.?)
Also, these types of control decks are rather slow. If you're facing a rush deck with creatures 3 or above HP, you're probably going to lose right away. Upgrading the Otys can help here, but I might consider adding even one or two more to ensure an early oty and draw some creature control. Even though your deck is already pretty gravity-heavy (lol?) gravity shields could be very helpful (basically the only creatures that can pass the shield are ones your Otyughs can eat).

tl;dr
Upgrade Otyughs
+1 or 2 otys
drop titanium shield for gravity shield
(quints? but that would really slow down the deck)

Also, I wouldn't consider this deck for T50 simply because most of those decks are either rainbows (creature control), speed rainbows, or rushes. Even RoL/Hope could defeat this with an early lobo.

How exactly do you play those Otys? :P

Meh.  5 damage for one?

This is a game where most creatures have less than five attack.  And by most, I mean almost all of them.  Will edit in percentage.
You're right, getting 5 damage for 1 quanta IS overpowered (http://elementswiki.co.cc/cards-fire/fire-bolt-fire-lance/).  *Cough*
*You're right, getting 3 damage for 5 quanta IS overpowered (http://elementswiki.co.cc/cards-fire/fire-bolt-fire-lance/). lol.

Edit: Whoops, meant 3 per 10. and Firebolt is more situational because you need at least 11 (10?) to get that 6 for 1

How about instead of making a new timer function, just have the text on the card read something like "...When Tick dies it deals 2*MaxHP damage to the opponent"?

This makes it pretty simple to word and also adds 2 damage to the card initially.

Rainbow Decks / Re: Speed Rainbow
« on: July 29, 2010, 04:58:06 am »
Never
How much have you tested this deck? It seems to me if 3 or 4 of your creatures are in the last 10 cards, you'll definitely deck out. Or, if your opponent has any creature control at all you'll likely lose 1 or 2 creatures. 5 creatures is perhaps a bit too few in a speed rainbow.

Also, you're using a lot of air quanta. FFQ alone is 7 and hard to get out quickly, pegasus is 1 recurring if you want to dive, and fog shield is (2?) iirc.  I might even take a hope shield instead, because you're using unupped ffq anyways. This deck could really use some quints for the oty and queen, because they're pretty much key cards.

I recommend -1 fog shield +1 hope -2 quantum pillars +2 quint. Possibly add in some lycans

This card would be very very powerful in a fire stall deck, to the point where it becomes insta-win if you don't have a lot of permanent control.

Buff This Card! / Re: Nymph's Tears | Nymph's Tears
« on: July 29, 2010, 02:45:31 am »
The only nymph I have is the queen, and I haven't even considered using her in a deck yet.

I think the problem lies not only in the 4  :water cost for more nymphs, but also in her 9 :water summoning cost. It's just like the antimatter vs purple nymph argument, except nymph queen decks are extremely slow as well. I don't think it would be asking too much for her to come into play immortal, which removes the need to splash aether in every nymph deck.
