Thank you Absol for this topic. It's really inspiring. :)
Thank you chapuz for your OTK deck. It's quite stable (in silver league at least) and interesting to play. :)

Buff This Card! / Re: Grey Nymph
« on: February 17, 2012, 08:57:49 am »
First of all I think some people here don't take into account, that if the nymph uses her ability the field isn't crowded with Malignant Cells the next turn. I don't want to speculate on how long it takes on an average base. But the opponent has quite some turns to play quite some creatures after one of them has been aflatoxined. And remember: An afla'd creature has to die first before the m-cells even *start* filling the field. And then (!) you, the nymph player, still needs a shield (that may get PC'd) when you are facing an army of (unupped) cells.

I suggest removing summoning sickness or making it untargetable for one turn. Then maybe (I'm really unsure about that particular point) the skill cost could be raised again. So in the end you have an expensive afla spell in the first place. But you can cast it several time so it is more efficient. As a rare card the nymph should be somewhat powerful after all.

Deck Help / Re: Merawder's Decks
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:18:57 pm »
Very good point indeed, Shylderidh.

There are two things I don't fully understand.
1. What means "perfect deck" or "top notch"? Afaik there simply is not a single deck (or even two or more) that is superior to all other decks. So this cannot be the meaning.
2. Merawder really seems to care for the wiki, so he puts a lot of work into it. His deck list "Merawder’s Decks" has a 4,5 / 5 stars rating with more than 100 votes. For me it just feels wrong to remove such a reference. But maybe I don't know the wiki good enough, so my question is: How many other sites are in there that have similar statistics? I wouldn't like a wiki based on stats or votes but I'm curious here.

And yeah, I see that there is some kind of problem. If you click on the tag cloud on the right side of the screen, you mostly get Merawders decks. But there must be a more cooperative way than to just removing those decks.

Deck Help / Re: Merawder's Decks

What Merawder made, a dictionary for all two color combos, fits into a wiki. It doesn't fit into a forum. Because a wiki is a set of linked topics with attached discussions while a forum is a list of discussions.
C'mon, don't remove one of the hottest topic from the wiki and don't move it to a place where it does not belong to.
Agreed, "improving or deleting is contributor's decision", but wait ... Merwader is a contributor. Ask him!
One more thing. Is there really a need for the wiki decks to be "top notch"? Who needs this? Then, why is "I’ve GotP Time" still featured although it has been nerfed to just another arbitrary deck?

OK, some of Merawders decks are mediocre. Just like many of the forum decks. As well as many of the wiki decks.

Patch Notes and Development News / Re: Elements 1.28

This patch is sooooo unbelievable cool.

With the introduction of the Oracle there was a reason to login every day. Now, with The Arena there is a reason to play anytime.

Keep up the good work, Big Z!

Rainbow Decks / Re: Cloaked dragon rush (against FGs)

Yeah, good point. For the AI5 I use a variation of that one, too. But then I try to get EM, so I added Miracle and Heal

Code: [Select]
5c2 5op 5v2 5v2 5v2 5v2 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6rn 6rn 6rn 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 711 77f 77f 7ad 7di 7gt 7k2 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 7q5 80d 80d 80d
You nearly always win and nearly always with EM. If I'm tired of losing against the FG (be it luck or bad skill) I bully the Halfbloods with this one  :D

BTW for the FG I also stick to Rastas version now. First I played with five Supernovas only because I feared that I would have to discard too often, but in fact even with six of those this happens rather rarely. Against some gods (e.g. with poison) it is better to have Miracle instead of one of the hourglasses. But all in all it is more fun to speed draw down to five cards and then kill fast.

/edit: I will fix both decks in the thread start and in this post soon ...
/edit: updated

In fact this deck worked in 1.26 already. In my opinion Cloak is imba now - against the AI at least. Which is part of the reason why I posted this deck (idea).

Rainbow Decks / Cloaked dragon rush (against FGs)
« on: March 05, 2011, 07:19:22 pm »
/edit The post below was made back then, when the AI didn't bother to target Cloak.

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
5op 5v2 5v2 5v2 5v2 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6qq 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 6u3 711 77f 77f 7ad 7di 7gt 7q5 7q5 7q5 80d 80d 80d 8pj

The best thing about Cloak is that the AI never targets it.

General strategy:
Play Hourglass and Pulverizer ASAP, maybe play an early Cloak if your (AI-) opponent has much permanent control. When there are around 17 cards left in your deck, start playing the true combo of this deck: Cloak + Phase Shield. Now play your dragons and chain your Cloaks and shields.

The above decks performs fine, I think, although I cannot give you any statistics.

Pros:
+ Very fast
+ Interesting and fun to play
+ Not too expensive because the shields or dragons for example do not need to be upgraded.
+ There are some nice variations possible (see below)

Contras:
- Prone to mass control (Thunder Storm, Plague, etc.)
- Prone to speed poison
- You will never reach EM (Miracle is just for survivability)

Variations:
- You CAN get EM by adding Miracle + Heal or Chimera + Liquid Shadow
- If you know you fight a FG with neither permanent nor creature control, you may remove the Cloaks (4 cards!) and add dragons, Sky Blitzs, Heals, etc.
- If you do not have the Ivory dragon, I'd suggest the Amethyst dragon

/edit: New version, thanks Rasta

Issue Archive / [fixed] Sky Blitz kills Antimatter
« on: December 22, 2010, 06:02:41 pm »
I played a flying creature (e.g. the white 12/12 dragon).
I got antimattered (-12/12).
I played Sky Blitz (unupgraded, the dragon got -24/12 for one turn).
The next turn the dragon returned to having 12/12 while I expected -12/12.
