Rating takes less effort than posting, by the way. If someone sees something they dislike they'll click the 1, and that's perfectly understandable. While i agree that in the perfect world every critic would explain their reasoning, lets be honest, this isn't the perfect world.

I really wish the trainer could implement cards like this that use core mechanics in the game (AKA they're already possible with a few variable tweaks and no major engine change). It would make testing so much easier, and allow me to have so much fun testing this one!

@Odin, that's a really good ability. Your opponent can either kill the meatshield of a totem, letting your creature survive for a while. Or kill your creature knowing you can bring it back next turn for a little quanta. (I say "kill" for convenience sake. This includes lobo etc.)

Cool mechanic but due to the nature of elements card placement (need many cards before they start being adjacent) i don't think it's a viable tactic unless you're using malignant cells or some other mass creature spam.

Dark seems overpowered compared to water. Both heal for the creatures damage, but water stops the creature from damaging the opponent. (I realise this avoids shield effects but it's still on the whole less useful, imo.)

Time could possibly keep the creatures a turn behind, effects wise. What i mean by this is, if your opponent uses ice bolt on your creature, it won't suffer 2 damage and be frozen until after the next turn. Same applies with blessings/chaos power/pandorium... I just think that's a cool power that isn't rediculously overpowered, but can still be very valuable.

(If someone wants to make another card based on that ability, go ahead! Lord knows i'm too lazy to.)

For some reason this makes me think "Should there be a deck-killing card?" That is, something which, say, shows your opponent the top card of their deck, and throws it in the bin! Would work well with rewind, maybe too well xP
That's honestly a really awesome idea. It would have to be expensive though, as that's a kinda powerful ability.

As you say it would work nicely with reverse time but it also has good combos with eternity, mindgate, denial decks, deckout decks, any deck that can afford it, really.

Card Ideas and Art / Re: Solstice | Solstice
« on: February 01, 2012, 03:49:31 pm »
There's absolutely nothing wrong with naming a Water card named Solstice, nor associating it with freezing effects and HP gain.
How can a Fate Egg hatch into a random creature if "fate" means it's predetermined? What part of creatures hitting Permafrost has anything to do with them becoming frozen? Why is the Life card Forest Scorpion the scorpion that has initial attack and the weakest poison?
A theme is just that: a theme. It is not the blueprints that define the mechanic, and it is not the bars that cage the mechanic. The theme and the mechanic are a pair that fit well together, and in my opinion, these fit well just fine. I'm not going to change the card name to "Spell That Freezes All Creatures For Two Turns Then Gives An HP Buff To Frozen Creatures" and scrap from the mechanic things that don't fit into the card name.
No more comments on balance?
Why would we debate balance when you're taking a major celestial event as a name for an almost entirely unrelated effect?
That should clearly bethe primary concern here. It does not make sense to claim solstice as a festival of freezing when it occurs just as often in mid summer as in winter.
there are 2 times a year when a solstice takes place, summer and winter.
First of all, I already adressed the points you brought up, as quoted above. If you're going to argue against me, at least respond to my argument or provide new evidence. Also, you guys do know that if it's the "Summer" Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere, there's still freezing going on because it's the "Winter" Solstice in the other half of the world, right?
Second of all, the only purpose on arguing on this thread would be to sway my opinion. No further discussion on the theme of this card will sway my opinion. If you're not willing to comment on balance, then don't comment at all.
Man i enjoy some of your card ideas including this one but you really need to learn to take constructive criticism better. People aren't pointing things out to hurt your feelings, they're giving feedback so you can perfect the card.

Water/gravity duo would be pretty badass with this card. First of all, the sheer stalling power is intense. Essentially remove every creature from play including abilities for 2 turns. Then you have the gravity shield, making any creature after the freeze incapable of harming you. Then you have the catapulted frozen armagios. Add a few black holes and you have a serious rainbow destroyer.

Can't really say anything about it's balance, but if you compare it to rain of fire, it's kinda cheap.

General Discussion / Best win ever :D

Platinum arena. Opponent has 1 hp. I have a rustler pet from oracle. Instant win for about 500 gold/score. Hell yeah!

For a while i thought it was a bug, and was about to report it as a bug, but i'm just assuming the opponent must have had 1 hp as i didn't look and that's far more likely... (The black block thing didn't happen, which the known bugs states)

Less powerful? Hardly. I'd say the tradeoff is still favourable- Adrenaline allows you to skip a few turns of lower attack (below 16, or whenever adrenaline stops working) in return for a temporary diminished return.
Indeed. And that itself is less powerful than it *should* work.

Definatley a bug/poor decision.

You do not control the oracle, if you happen to get the same card in a row, that's a strange coincidence and you shouldn't have to suffer for it.

All this "feature" does is prevent people from relying on a 1/~300 chance every day to use the same deck, while losing lots of HP a day waiting for it. No one in their right mind does that.

Take 6 OP Sosac, add something that kill slowly but surely (accelerated titan, neurotoxin, shard of void) and you have a very good Plat farmer. I won 400k score this way
Can you suggest a deck? I've never used any of the new shards but readiness...

Pvp for non-upgraded, gold and platinum for uprgraded.
Probably this.  I got most of my score from arena and FGs, so the second part is definitely true.  FGs are easier, but give less score.  I'm not sure what PvP is like for score these days, but it did get a recent boost, plus 99% of people in pvp1/2 are n00bs so you have a guaranteed high win rate; it's just slow waiting for games.
Yeah... Whats up with that? Every single time i play pvp i have like 90% win rate, no exaggeration. I've never understood that.

Gold/plat sounds nice... But i've never had a great winning deck for them. Same with FG. I mean it's still easily a positive score/profit in the long run, but it's a lot of losses...

I want to get a high arena level.

I've always stuck to pvp1, but it gets worse as your score gets higher. What are the best alternatives?

Around middle of the page.
It's nice that it's already noted but it's still clearly a glitch in the game that deserves to be looked at.
It's clearly not a bug and clearly should be regarded as such.
This interaction has been a part of the game since Acceleration/Overdrive came out.
Any suggestions for alternative card effects should go into the Game Suggestions and Feedback thread.
The fact that one of your attacks heals the enemy is rediculous. I can see why it's in place, to make the combo less powerful (Which in itself is very lame. The whole point is to make things balanced without nerfing specific combos), but there are less "cheap" ways to do it.

Plus it means that you actually don't suffer shield effects that attack. Or you could possibly kill someone before the healing takes effect.

Anyway. The fact it's been in the game for a while does not mean it's not a bug. I can't honestly see zanz delibratley making it this way. My best guess is that is was an uncaught bug that turned into a "feature" due to convenience.
